Chapter 22

"I need a drink." She walked into their bathroom and pulled her hair out of its ponytail. Aden walked in and smiled.

"Sit down love." she does, and he gently combs out her hair. Once he was done, she looked in the mirror.

"Wow, Aden you have many hidden talents it seems. Does it mean anything?" she asked as she looked at the braids he put in the side of her hair. He did both sides then brought them together in the back to form a long single braid.

"Yes, but I want you to find out what it means on your own. And before you ask my father and Libertus won't tell you." He smiled then kissed her.

Lynn frowned as she watched him leave the bathroom. She had no idea how to find out what they meant. Lynn and Aden were having drinks with their unit when Nyx and Libertus came in. Nyx saw her and his eyes shot to his son.

"Don't tell her. I want her to find out on her own." Aden says as he kisses her collarbone. It sent chills down her spine. She pulled out her phone and tried looking up different things and got nothing. When they went home that night, she was sitting on the edge of the bed when Aden walked in. when he saw her, he laughed.

"Still haven't figured it out yet?" she shook her head no as she laid down. His arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her close to him.

"You're really not going to tell me, are you?" Aden kissed her neck.

"Nope." She sighed curled up closer to him.

Aden woke up to hear Lynn yelling.

"Run Aden." She sat up real fast and he quickly pulled her to him. He softly talked to her until she was calmed down.

"Lynn look at me, sweetheart." When she did, he kissed her.

"Do you want to know what these means?" he asked as he touched the braids in her hair? She looked at him.

"Yes." He smiled at her.

"It means I asked you to marry me." She felt her tears as she threw her arms around his neck.

"Don't you have to ask my father first?" she asked. Aden laid back down with her on top of him. She propped her chin upon his chest.

"That's not how it is done on Galahd. He may challenge me if he thinks I can't provide for you or protect you. I called him last night and asked if he wished to challenge me and he said no." she leaned up and kissed him.

"Is there anything I should do to show my answer?" Aden looked at her.

"If you accept then you have to go on a hunt and bring back the tooth of the monster you took down the deadlier the more meaning. Then in public, you have to take your family's color ribbon and tie it to my armor, and I tie mine to yours. After you tie the tooth to my weapon. If you say no, then in public you have to undo the braids in your hair."

"Why your color on my armor?" she asked confused.

"Because you're a warrior as well. When I wear yours, it shows that I'm honoring all that you hold dear." He explained.

"So, when I wear your colors it means the same thing?" He nods his head.

"How long do I have to do any of these?" He kissed her head.

"About two weeks from the time I place the braids in your hair." She smiled as she laid back down.

"What is your answer?" he asked her.

"I guess you will have to wait and see." She said with a laugh.

Lynn woke up really early.

"Ryza how fast can you fly?" she asked the phoenix.
