Where it began

Izuku looked down at his feet, his eyes wide with shock, his hero, his idol, the person he had always looked up to told him that he couldn't be a hero. Izuku Midoriya felt like a loser. All he wanted was to become a hero but that seemed to be nothing but a broken dream at this point. "I-I can't become a hero?" He repeated as he slowly looked up at All Might. "I can't be like you?"

All Might placed his hands on his hips a proud smile on his face as he looked at the younger boy. "Quirkless people shouldn't be hero's! You'll thank me later!"

Izuku balled his hands into a fist on his sides. 'Wipe that damn smile off of your face!' He thought, his dreams had just been shattered and his hero was smiling as if he had done him some type of favor. "What's so wrong with wanting to help people? Why can't a quirkless boy like me become a hero? Why is it dangerous?"

All Might was taken aback by the young boy's words. "If you don't have a quirk, you won't be able to protect yourself. And if you can't protect yourself what good of a hero would you be trying to protect people?" He covered his mouth with his hand and coughed, a small amount of blood being coughed up. "Look kid I got to go. Plus Ultra!"

This wasn't the person Izuku looked up to, he wasn't the one who Izuku always made time for, he spent countless hours watching videos about the pro hero, when he was about 9 years old he began to spend his earned money on merchandise of the hero, but was it all for nothing? The green-haired boy remained silent as he heard All Might leave the roof. "I'll show him that anyone can be a hero! Quirkless or not!"

'All Might isn't the man that the media portrays him to be, I'll be better than him!' He glanced over at the side of the roof, he could easily end it all if he threw himself off of the building and he probably would have done it if it wasn't for his new goal in mind. Izuku closed his eyes and smelled the air as he got rid of all his negative feelings, he'd become the best of the best. Once he got himself to calm down he slowly made his way off of the roof.

He kept his head down the entire time he walked out off the school campus, he was disappointed, he felt beaten and lost. Although he had a goal in mind he didn't even know how to start it, what he should do and how. It wouldn't be easy trying to be a quirkless hero but it would be worth it. Izuku didn't realize how lost he was in his thoughts until he bumped into someone. "I-I'm sorry sir!" He stuttered in shock.

"Watch where you're going, kid! I'm trying to watch what's happening." The man said as he stood on his tippy toes in a poor attempt of trying to get a closer look.

Izuku looked around and noticed the large crowd. "U-Um excuse me but what's going on?" He asked as he looked at the man who was struggling to get a good view.

"A villain grabbed a boy and it's currently holding him captive.... the hero's aren't doing anything. I think they're trying to figure out a way to attack without hurting the boy."

"The hero's aren't doing anything?" He repeated as he forced his way through the crowd, true to the stranger's words there were about six hero's, none of them showed any interest in helping the captured boy. He quickly looked around to see if anyone was trying to help. Izuku officially lost hope in All Might. Instead of All Might trying to help the boy he just stood there, with that smile, that smile was starting to annoy him.

Izuku let his backpack fall off his shoulders a quiet plop signifying that it hit the floor. 'If no one else is going to do it, I will.' He said in his head as he took a deep breath, he took half a step back before running towards the sludge monster, ignoring the yells of the people who tried to stop him.'Even if their quirks aren't fit for this villain, they could at least try to help!'
