It was strange; her body has never been this restless before. By the time the sun broke over the horizon Chloe couldn’t take it anymore. Why was the day going so slow? Her feet itched and she couldn’t stand it for a moment longer. Strapping her violin case to her back and slipping on her shoes, Chloe made her way to the school. Even though she was going to be there before everyone else didn’t mean she would see the results any sooner. The results still wouldn’t come out until around noon.
She figured she would waste the time exploring the school grounds some more. There was a little duck pond with a nice walkway that she found. In the listing mist of the early morning, it seemed so serene. The scenery was calming. She decided to sit against a tree and watch the world around her. In the distance she heard someone play the piano. Through drowsy eyes, she looked in the direction of the music. It was coming from the lone building that she heard the beautiful music the first time. Chloe’s eyes started to close to the sweet lullaby. She would just rest her eyes for a minute.
By the time Chloe woke up the sun was high in the sky and she felt stiff as a board. Her skin felt warm from the sun and after a long moment of grogginess, Chloe popped up. The results should be out by now! Taking her violin and holding against her body, she ran to the auditorium where the results would be posted. When Chloe got to where she was going she was panting. She waited for the few people who were left to leave. Maybe she should have asked Nathan or Amber to come with her. She didn’t know whether it was the run or her nerves that had her heart pounding.
Swallowing her nerves, Chloe stepped forward to see where she scored. Her fingers were crossed and she was squeezing her case tightly against her chest. She started from the bottom of the list; she knew her score was bad. At least she wasn’t the last person. The higher her fingers traced up on the list the tighter her chest felt. When she finally found her name she stopped. All she had to do was look to the right some and see if there was an instructor’s name or not. If there wasn’t she didn’t make it, but if there was…
Chloe shook away her fears and bit the bullet. Her finger skimmed across the page, her teeth scraping against the skin below her lower lip. The wait of even a few second that it took for her fingers to move was too much. With a sharp intake of air she stood there simply gawking at what was above her fingertips. Mr. Stensan. It was as if Chloe was frozen to the spot, she was too excited to even move. She felt her toes wiggle then her feet bounce. At that moment she wanted to scream her victory to the world.
Her heart was light and she spun around and sprinted about four steps before almost crashing into someone. He caught her by her shoulders, stilling her instantly. He had hair like starlight that glistened in the afternoon sun. It was messy and the soft wind blew it in his face. He was tall, oh god he towered over her he was so tall. He looked like an angel, how he glowed by simply standing there. What was such a stunning looking angel doing here?
He let go of her and looked up, seemingly forgetting about her. “Such low scores. The school is in for a bad year.” He sighed. Chloe scrunched up her face at him. He was an angel with a foul mouth. “You can’t possibly be excited over such low scores, whoever you are.” He scoffed.
“I’m not looking for approval by someone who didn’t even watch how hard these people worked.” Chloe folded her arms. He looked back at her with a skeptical look and a raised brow.
“A fool playing with sticks is still a fool.” The foul mouth angel retorted.
“Call me a fool then.” She sighed, waving her hand around as her back faced him. Why should Chloe care about some arrogant rich kid?

Shane watched the bouncing pixie run off. How did someone so wild possibly make it into such a prestigious school? He saw that smile, that wasn’t a smile of a failure. She definitely got in, that meant he’d see her next year. When she about plowed him over all he seen was a glimmer of neon blue before he reacted. Even through the hair that fell in his face he could see those big mint green eyes of hers. Nothing about her seemed like she was the type to play music, not the kind this school liked anyways. She wore a pair of cargo shorts and a black shirt with a panda head on it. Most people were from rich renowned families so they all dressed to impress.
