We were born like any other child. We all cried when we saw the first light of the world. But we were different. When we first opened our eyes the world came to a halt. I remember it very clearly. A man dressed in all white with a kind and caring face descended unto us. A glow that matched the sun seemed to follow his every movement. He spoke in a silky and wise tone. He said, "You three hold the key to all. You are the beginning of something greater than human-kind. You are different." As the three of us started to glow with a mystery force, a doctor ran in. This infamous doctor saw our difference. He smiled bigger than the mother's that gave us life did. He stole us from our cribs and ran from all light. He decided he would hide us till we grew. And he achieved his goal. He kept us locked up for years. And during that period of time our minds developed. And as our minds grew, so did our powers. Sophie grew beautiful brown hair and hazel eyes. Both reminding all of the great forest's trees. Maya grew gorgeous dark brown hair and deep cocoa eyes. Both reminding all of wet sand after a soft wave departs the beach. Then there was me. My name is and was Corinne. I have and had red hair like a burning flame. My golden eyes would make jewelers drool. But we were not allowed to focus on beauty. The devious doctor locked us in a small lab. He tortured our pre-developed minds till they snapped like a twig. We lived in fear and pain. The three of us still remember the cold and infamous whip the man used to often. We remember the cold look he got into his eyes when something went wrong. But he never seemed to want to kill us. He thought we were special. So for years he kept us locked up. Years went by without us three innocent children knowing of another other life form. The torturer then started to educate us everyday. We learned of war, hate, jealousy, peace, and love. He helped us read novels that he said that most ten year olds couldn't read. Sophie read Shakespeare and melted when reading of Romeo and Juliet. Maya read Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. She grew and laughed as she read the enchanting novel. I read many novels, yet I loved the tiny book called The Billionaires Obsession. I drowned in it's every sentence. But just teaching us to read was not all. He started acting more kind to us. I guess now that I look back he was trying to draw out our powers. Yet we never showed any difference to regular children. But that all changed. One night he got infuriated with the three of us. He stormed around and threw glass bottles at the plain walls. Then he did something that would change our lives forever. He hit Sophie with a rigid glass shard, drawing blood from her pale cheek. Maya screamed as the madman continued to beat the flower girl mercilessly. The devious man cursed the sky for making him so foolish. But he didn't say any more. Maya launched into the air with her dark brown hair flying. Her eyes turned from a deep cocoa to a ocean blue. Water seemed to flood from her fingertips. Time slowed and a shark formed behind the tiny water princess. The shark struck the man and gallons of water knocked the torturer down. I remember dragging Sophie across the now soaking floors. I remember seeing the blood and bruises on her face. All I knew was they were from the man who taught us about love and hate. Maya sunk to the ground and cried. That was the last time the devious and devilish man breathed. That was the day we escaped. That was the day we learned how special we really were. We had never seen so much beauty in just a forest. Sophie cried as we walked through, finally seeing life growing and not metal tables and beakers. We did not know where to go or what to do. We looked back at the wretched man's lair and turned back. We would never go back. We walked for days. We used our newly found abilities to captured and cook food. We never complained. There was so much more to life than we had ever known. We settled down in a great maple tree. We trained by making the home suitable for life. We lived for years in the wilderness. But we would have never expected to remember love. Maybe we were fools believing we could ever find love. But we would have never left the torturer's lab if we knew what lie ahead. Our fate would forever be twisted by the beginning's stars.
