Cutting It

A few weeks later
Harry and I were now official and now we were better. Even better than before. His birthday was coming up in a week so I definitely wanted to do something for him, but I don't know what. I have so many ideas. It could be at the beach where we always go or at the chip shop or anywhere else. First I wanted a new hairstyle, the blue hair I had wasn't cutting it no more. I needed to touch it up some. I just needed to slip away from Harry. Just enough so I can think about what I'm going to do for his birthday and get my hair done. Now he was always around me and we rarely ever parted, but that's exactly how I wanted it. Although it did get annoying at times, but it was better than not having him. "Are you okay?" Harry asked. I look at him, "yeah." Harry holds my chin so I look at him. He kisses me and smiles, "you always stare off into space." I shake my head with a smile of my own, "no I don't." Harry nods, "yes you do." He wraps his arms around me further. I break his hold, "actually I was thinking about something." Harry gets up with me, "about what?" I kiss him and pull away only a bit and smile, "I can't tell you." I start walking off to lady trimane's hair place. They were closed, but Dizzy would be happy to help me. I walk in and she was sweeping the floor as she usually was. I smile as she sees me, "hi." "The cash register is right there. Just take the money." She replies, kind of scared. I giggled, "you're fine. You're probably thinking of Harry, but actually I'm here to give you money." Dizzy gives a confused look. I walk over and sit in one of the salon chairs, "I need something new." She happily skips over and smiles, "what do you mean?" I touch my hair, "I need a re dye and maybe a hair cut. I want something new." Dizzy gives a wide, mischievous smile and grabs her scissors, "I'll have you ready in no time." Dizzy starts by mixing some dark blue hair dye and starts plastering it on my hair. After she's done she walks me over to the tub to wash my hair. She starts with a rinse then some shampoo. She rinses the shampoo out and goes in with a deep conditioner. After she rinses it out she takes me to the dryer to dry my hair. Afterwards she sits me back down in the chair and gets out the scissors and starts cutting my hair. After she's done she spins me around and smiles over my shoulder, "how is it?" I get up and walk over to the broken mirror and laugh, "that's what I'm talking about." I give her a high five and pull out some money to give to her. She takes it and immediately pockets it. Harry walks in as he must be doing his looting for the day. He didn't notice me as he tried to get Dizzy to hand him the money. I walk over to him and pull him away, "she earned that." He takes a moment and looks at me. He grabs a strand of hair. I smile at him, "do you like it?" He takes a moment then leans on the counter and smiles at me, "I do." He looks at Dizzy, "you're off the hook today." I giggle, "literally." Harry and I leave and start walking to the chip shop to get something to eat. We run into Gil and he smiles, "Harry, Liz. How are you guys? Where you headed?" He then notices my new hair, "woah, Liz. Nice haircut." I look at Harry who was talking to Gil, but I decided to zone out again and think about what I'm gonna do for his birthday. Yes, we don't really do much for birthdays on the isle, but I wanted him to feel special. God knows he makes me feel that way. Harry waves a hand in front my face, "what are you thinking about now?" I shake my head, "nothing." Harry continues forward, "let's go then." Gil joins us and we all go to the chip shop for lunch. I didn't work here anymore. When I yelled 'I quit' I meant it. Me and Ursula aren't really on the same page after that, but I could still pay her for food. We ordered and once our food came we started eating. I tasted some of the stuff on the plate, "I never really had the food here." Harry raises an eyebrow and turns to me, "but you worked here." I take another bite, "doesn't mean I ate the food. Never had the chance." Gil breaks our conversation, "I hope I'm not being a third wheel." Harry turns to him, "no we were just getting lunch."
A week later
I spent all day preparing for Harry's birthday. I figured it would just be me and him. I would take him to the beach and have the whole night with him. Of coarse I would have to sneak out because of mom, but I've snuck out plenty of times. I told Harry to meet me at the beach around nine. Around eight I snuck out and walked to the beach so I could set up. I had some food packed and a blanket for a night at the beach also a picnic. Of course it wasn't original, but on the isle there wasn't many options. I made it to the beach right before Harry did and set out the blanket and laid out the food. The moon was just enough light to see everything and I felt like it was perfect. Of coarse I agree that mine and his idea of fun is terrorizing people, but that's everyday not a birthday. I sat down and waited for Harry. He came around the time he was supposed to and chuckled, "what's all this?" I walked up to him and kissed him. I pulled away a tiny bit and smiled, "happy birthday." I started walking back to the set up and Harry followed, holding one arm around my waist, "this is a happy birthday." We sit down and he looks at some of the food. "Sorry it's not fresh. Maybe one day when we're in Auradon I can do that." I sigh. He shakes his head, "no. It's fine. I love it."
