Jungkook's POV
The vivid colours of the food spoke to its freshness and the bold flavours to come. Food blossomed in the kitchen with its own special fragrance. The sight and aroma of the food was a gentle massage to my soul. Food was one of the ways we loved one another, another kind of hug, another way to bring out that inner sunshine.
I was trying to do the same, trying to impress my father in law. After the phone call, me and Taehyungie had a talk and he said that the fight his dad with his mom was probably because of him and he wanted dad to come here because clearly he didn't have anywhere to go now. Taehyungie wanted dad to meet me and Soo.
I did my best as I could and prepared the table. Taehyungie was out to pick his dad up from somewhere they decided on the call they had to meet up. He would be home soon. Soo was in the living room watching his favorite cartoons as I was busy in the kitchen. I am pretty nervous because I'll be meeting my father in law for the first time. I just hope he will accept me and Soo.
"I'm home" I heard Taehyungie and the door opening and closing.
I nervously walked to the living room where Taehyungie and his dad were. Soo looked up from the screen at his Dada as he hopped off of the couch and ran to him. Taehyungie picked him and gave him a kiss on his cheek, I looked at his dad who was looking at the scene silently, he must be confused.
"Love, come~" I snapped out as I heard him and his dad looked at me as well.
I nod and hesitantly walked closer to them. I stood beside Taehyungie as he wrapped his left hand around my waist and from the right holding Soo securely. I bowed to his dad as he did as well. Before he could say or ask anything, Taehyungie beat him to it.
"Dad, this is Kim Jungkook my husband and this is Kim Jungsoo our son"
"N-nice to meet you, sir" I said nervously as I bowed down once again.
"Call me dad Jungkook" He said softly and I looked at him, only to see him smiling at us. I smiled back as well.
We all sat down on the couch. I and Taehyungie were on the big couch as Soo was on Taehyungie's lap. Dad sat on the smaller one beside Taehyungie.
"Dada is this my Grand-Dada?" Soo asked as he looked at Taehyung.
"Yes Soo, this is your Grand-Dada" He answered and Soo hopped off of Taehyung's lap and bowed in front of his Grand-Dada making us smile at him.
"How old are you little one?" He asked.
"Soo ish 3 years-old" My little baby answered holding up three fingers in front of his face.
"How long have you been married Tae?" Dad asked.
"We have known each other for 8 years now Dad. 5 years into dating and 3 years into marriage. We actually got married when we found out Koo was pregnant with Soo, he was in his 2nd month when we got married" He answered smiling as Dad smiled as well.
"I am sorry you couldn't tell us earlier Tae but now I promise I will protect you three to the very last vestige of my power. I won't ever leave you. Not ever. Though these bones will age my love is eternal for you and Namjoon. I hope you never felt you had to earn my love, to prove yourself worthy, but you did feel those things and I am really sorry for that. Don't worry about her from now on" Dad said and Taehyung hugged him with slightly moist eyes as I noticed Dad had tears in the corner of his eyes as well as he looked at me and Soo smiling that familiar boxy smile exactly same as my hubby's.
The emotion of their reunion sealed as a perfect photograph in my soul. I will never forget this moment. I finally met and got happily accepted by my father in law. Soo got his Grand-Dada as well.
"Mumma" Soo called as he came up to pouting.
"Yes baby" I caressed his cheeks.
"Hungwy" He pouted.
"You must be hungry as well Dad, let's eat. We can talk later" Taehyung said and dad agreed as well.
I went back to the kitchen reheating everything as Taehyungie's dad went to the guest room with his luggage to change into comfortable clothes. I was setting up the table again when when my hubby and baby came. Taehyungie sat Soo down on his baby chair and came up to me kissing my forehead.
"Don't be nervous okay. This is Dad and he accepted the three of us as we are. Don't worry, you did a great job with the food love but you didn't need to. I don't want you to tire yourself" He said and I looked up at him smiling slightly.
"It isn't tiring hubby. Don't worry" I kissed his cheek.
Dad came and we sat down. Taehyung served him as I made a plate for Soo. I placed veggies on his plate and heard him whine. I put it down in front of him.
"You will finish all the veggies Soo, got it?" I said sternly looking at him.
"Dada~" He whined looking at Taehyungie with a pout.
"Do what mumma says Soo. Eat it all" He replied and Soo started eating.
"So, the little one is Dada's boy, huh?" Dad chuckled and I looked at him smiling.
"Let's call Joonie hyung and Jinnie hyung tomorrow" Taehyung said.
"Joon and Jin knows?" Dad asked and we nod.
"I will tell you the story later, first let's eat" Taehyungie said.
"You know Dad, my Koo is really an amazing cook" I blushed at that.
"I agree with you Taebear. You really found a gem" Dad answered as he took a bite, making me blush even more.
