A normal day

The Hokage's office

Tsunade over looked the documents in front of her she had no choice, Hinata's abilities are needed for this mission since Neji can't come back in time and Naruto is the only other ninja I haven't given a mission.
It's not like I wouldn't be glad to get him off my case about not getting as much missions as the rest but Hinata, it'll take at least 2 days time so I just hope she can keep focus on the mission, it'll probably take a week if she faints every time he talks to her.
Hopefully she'll use this time to learn to get more comfortable around him. Tsunade sighed as she layed her thoughts to rest. "Shizune, tell naruto and Hinata to come get the details for their new mission" and she left as soon as I finished talking.

With Naruto

There's nothing like a good bowl of Ichiraku Ramen. More like 15 but who's counting. I took a deep breath payed for my food and stepped outside. I honestly had nothing to do. I don't have any missions and almost everyone I know is on a mission rn...well not everyone he thought letting a small come across his face. He quickly wiped it off. Weird he's been smiling at the thought of her for a while now. "Naruto you are to report to the Hokages office immediately you have a mission" Shizune said appearing in front of me making me forget what I was just thinking about.

"Great" I said heading off immediately. I was rushing through the hallway almost reaching the office when I bumped into a small frame.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw who it was. Hinata... It's a good thing I caught her before she fell because Neji would kill me if I hurt her. "Hey are you okay?" I said looking into her big lavender eyes. My hands gripped firmly around her waist. "Yes I'm fine" she said trying to push off his hands "l-let go of me, p-please" she said her face a crimson red.

Naruto hesitantly let go even though he didn't know why, he felt a sudden sadness of her reaction to him. He honestly doesn't know if he likes her or not. He knew he liked Sakura but the way he feels about Hinata is different...

He cleared his mind and saw as Hinata tried to block her face from his view. He just brushed it off and continued to Granny Tsunade not even noticing her following close behind.

Hinata

I followed close behind Naruto as we entered Tsunade's office. Could it be. Me and Naruto on a mission...together. I can barely get over how close we was just a few minutes ago. I can feel the blush on my cheeks from just thinking about it. Hopefully more people will arrive soon.

"Hinata are you okay?" Tsunade said noticing the red on her face. "Hmm?" Naruto said scratching his head as he just noticed her being there. He wondered how she was so quiet.

"Y-Yes I'm f-f-fine" I managed to say. "Good because I'm assigning you both on an C-rank escort mission. You might come in contact with Rogue ninjas who seek the merchandise of the village hidden in the mist. It's shouldn't take no longer then 2 days but pack for 3." Tsunade told us. "Finally I've been waiting for this, we let nobody near the hidden mists stuff Believe it" Naruto said. "Good here is a map, it'll show you were to leave them at, don't leave them until you are sent off by Anbu from their forces. They'll hand you a scroll to give to me so you know it's them. You guys have an hour to pack and must leave immediately." She said dismissing us.

Time skip

I was waiting for Naruto at the front gates. I came a few minutes early so I don't mind, I finally see him walking towards me and I felt myself getting more and more nervous with each step. What was I thinking. I can't do this. "Hey Hinata you're already here". He said waving to me. "Y-yeah" I said looking down playing with my fingers. This moment right here is too much for me and I have to spend the next 48 hours with him. I don't think I've ever been alone with him for this long.
No I can't be like that. I have gotten stronger and I will show Naruto my growth. "Okay let's get started, I have this all under control just follow my lead" he told me and then started heading off into the wrong direction. I know from a previous mission that the village is the opposite way. "Umm N-naruto?" I said
"Hmm?" He responded "I-i think we're g-going t-the wrong w-way" I said. "Well the map says this way" he says showing it to me. I giggle to myself on the inside noticing that the map was upside down. "H-here" I said taking it from him and returning it right side up. I didn't miss the blushed that appeared on his cheek, "hehe, sense of direction is one of the qualities I lack. Here how about I follow you're lead" he said to me, handing back the map. I could get lost in those eyes all day, but I have to focus on the mission and not Naruto's smile. Okay I need to stop I quickly turned around and started for the location we were supposed to meet these people at.

We've been walking for the remaining amount of the day, it wasn't until he mentioned that we should set up camp that I realized I forgot my tent, I still have a sleeping bag but it's not the same I sighed and went to gather some fire wood.

"Hey Hinata it's getting late are you gonna set up a tent?" Naruto asked me studying my face leaning in a little too close. I hate that I can't keep composure when he does things out of the blue like that, "u-um n-n-no I left mine at home" I said putting so my distance between us so I can steady my heart rate. "Really why didn't you say something you can share with me, cmon it's big enough of 3 people." He said dragging me to his tent after I lit the fire only letting go when he crawled into the tent.
I was about to go in after her but I decided to go grab my sleeping bag first.

Naruto POV

I sat in the tent waiting for Hinata to come in but instead I saw the shadow of her walking away, I looked down at the floor of the tent. I don't understand why she isn't as open to me as she is with everyone else, I get she's a shy girl but I've known her since we were kids just like everyone else, so why isn't she so distant with Kiba or Sakura, she even talks to Shino more then she talks to me. It's not like I was complaining a few months ago since my found interest in her is a knew one I can't quite put a finger on yet. It still kinda hurts my feelings. What is it with me.
Could she be scared of me? Could she be scared of karuma, I get that I have a monster inside of me bu- just as I was about to continue Hinata crawled in with her sleeping bag I noticed she didn't have before. Oh she just had to grab her sleeping bag, I kinda feel stupid for letting myself get all worked up just because she walked away.
Ion even know why I care so much
"I-Is e-everything alright N-naruto" she said doing that cute thing with her fingers, "yeah everything's fine now I said smile at her.
We were laying next to each other on out backs, the silence became sorta awkward so I decided to say something. "Hey Hinata" I said Turing to face her hoping she would meet my eyes. "Y-yes" was all she said. "We're friends right?" He asked not taking his eyes off her, he wanted to her reaction. "Y-yes of c-course, why ask all of a sudden? " she said frantically. "Ion know sometimes I just get the feeling that—nvm"
"Oh okay" she replied nervously and they both drifted off to sleep.
