....
My alarm rung. What did I even set it for again? I can't even remember th-
"FREE!"
I admit, I jumped, she had startled me. but I wiped away my sleek black hair, which was now in my face and responded.
"Yes mother? Do you need me?" I got my phone and got up to meet my mom in the kitchen, who was dressed with this very funky outfit which featured very dazzling colors.
"Where are you going Mom? It's uhh," My mother would try to interrupt but I got my phone and checked the time before I continued, "It's eleven at night, don't tell me you're going to the club with Dad again?"
She smirked, "That's exactly where we're going! You know that it's me and your dad's favorite!" My mother giggled and twirled around in excitement. I let out a bright grin.
"Well if it's what you want to do then I can't stop you from going," I then embraced her, "You two stay safe alright?"
I then heard Father let out a jolly laugh that echoed across the room, he came out in a tuxedo and was looking... actually kind of fresh.
"I'm surprised, Dad. That's honestly the only time you've actually dressed good." I let out a little laughter, "Joking, I'm joking!"
"Sure you are champ, sure you are." He says as he approached me and started ruffling with my hair, I just about died laughing.
"Dad, stop! You know I don't like when you do that!" Tears were coming out of my eyes as I continued to laugh, he backed up and placed his arm around mother.
"Oh my god, now my hair is all messy, thanks Dad, now I'll have to brush it or something later.."
He let out a huge grin, "Aw come on son, I'm just messing with ya. Come here, catch this hug before me and your mother leave."
I nodded and let myself fall into their arms, we hugged for one last time as they prepared to go.
"Free, you're the man of the house, literally, keep watch of Doug would ya?" My father looked at me, I nodded towards him again.
"Yeah, I'll watch Doug, you can count on me."
It's like Doug heard me too, cause he came straight from eating his food and rested his head on my leg, looking for pats.
"Aww, good boy Doug." I patted the dog softly and looked towards my parents, who had pretty much already left.
"Well, come on Doug, let's go bud!" I whistled and the Husky followed, I then sat on my bed and opened up my phone, only to see fifteen new messages from my best friend Ray.
"Spamming my messages again are we, Ray?" I had decided to start the conversation off with some humor.
"You know it, where have you been Free? Took you a bit to get back, I got worried." He responded back literally not even a minute later.
"I appreciate the concern, I really do, but I was just saying goodbye to my parents before they went out for the night."
"Went out for the night? You sure they didn't go somewhere more private to suck face or something?" That reply caught me off guard, but to be honest, I should have expected it from Ross.
"Ew, no, gross.. why would you say that?"
"Why not you know? Lmao." I shrugged it off and grinned.
"Fucking pervert." I responded.
"Haha, what do you expect from me eh?"
A whole hour of memes and random shit later....
Today was amazing, I loved every second of it and I wouldn't mind living through it ag-
Just then, I got a call, I checked my phone, it was from the hospital... what the fuck? Did they have the wrong number?
"Hello? You've reached Free Barrowtowa here, did you by chance have the wrong number?" I asked.
"Ah, Mr. Barrowtowa, glad we reached you... now I'm not exactly sure on how to deliver this, but...." The man suddenly stopped, I heard whispering, but I couldn't really make out as to what they were saying.
He finally got back on and continued, "Jacques Barrowtowa and Gwen Barrowtowa have been in a horrific accident, and the chances of them living are very, very slim."
"No... no no.... what...?" I froze in place, and I just... I didn't know how to react... there was so much shit going through my mind at that one time... I just didn't know what to respond with.
"I really do hate to be the one to inform you of this news, sir, I'm sorry."
...Silence.
"They're at the Saint Pharaoh's Hospital if you're willing to come see them, again, I'm very sorry sir..." The man then hung up, leaving me in my room, all alone.
My world just fucking shattered, and the worst part is, I couldn't even go see them..
I got up from my bed, this couldn't be real.... right?! It couldn't be.....
"I-is this a nightmare?? It has to be-" I tried pinching myself, and.... it was all real....
I went to Doug and immediately embraced him, why did this have to happen...?
"You're the closest thing..." I started bawling mid-sentence, "That I have to family now...."
I let go of Doug, he didn't want me crying on him, that's for damn sure....
I sat on my bed again... and I just... started crying even harder....
Why did this have to happen?
