It was one of those days where I had no say in what we did. As my mom walked up the stairs, I could hear the faint creak of the boards.

"Jo, honey, make sure that you pack your last boxes by 3:00." She said in a voice that made me want to punch a hole in the wall.

"The moving truck will be here at 3:45" She finished and walked out into the short hallway.

I really didn't want to leave California. Everyday I could walk to the beach, swim and suntan, I even lived about 25 minutes away from Disney Land. My parents barely talk to me any more, even though I'm the only child. Seriously, the only time they talk to me is to yell at me or tell me how disappointed they are of me. I had 4 more boxes to fill and it was already 2:00. I started packing to get the thought of my parents off of my mind.

"Josie, wake up." My mom pushed the blankets off of me.

"Mom-" and by the time I said that one word, she was gone out my door.
Thanks mom, I thought. Love you, too.

I wasn't ready to move. I wasn't ready to leave Oceanside like this. This was where I grew up. Where I learned to surf. Oh and if you didn't know, I am like a pro surfer. I have more medals then I can count. Not to brag or anything. But the beauty of Cali was soon only going to be a memory. I looked at the clock "7:02" it read. I sighed. Then walked out of the house I have been living in for 14 years(my whole life), and shut the door behind me. I got Into the car and literally thought about nothing for 20 minutes of the car ride. It was the saddest thing a 'Cali girl' could experience. Going from paradise to Washington wasn't going to be easy.

I asked my mom to stop by McDonald's for food considering I haven't eaten in forever! Of course she refused. But Instead of arguing with me, she gave me a little smack on the head. Child abuse!! Well it didn't really hurt I just want her to go to jail.

My mom muttered,"I am hungry, though," she looked at my dad, who was driving," Seafood?" She suggested.

I hate seafood. Absolutely hate it. My parents are really cautious about what they put into their bodies but I'm just like,"heck with this!" But seafood is nasty.

"Oh, now I'm craving Ivar's!" My dad exclaimed, without caring about what I have to say.

"Ew!"I yelled, expecting to get slapped again.

The next thing you know, we are in Ivar's parking lot. Another reason to hate life.
