Name: Ankoku Mayoi (間宵闇黒, Mayoi Ankoku) Name Meaning: "Ma" (間) can be roughly translated as "gap", "space", "pause." It also suggests interval. This kanji is present in the japanese word for teleportation, 瞬間移動 (shunkan idou.) "Yoi" (宵) means "early night." Her given name, "Ankoku" (闇黒) means darkness. QUIRK: Portal With her touch, Ankoku can create dimensional holes that either connect two non-adjacent locations, or lead to a personal void, which she uses as her own personal pocket dimension. Her quirk is only active on her hands, chest and stomach, so after years of figuring out her quirk without any coaching, she's managed to learn how to use each of these body parts differently: she uses her own chest and stomach as portals directly connected to the void (mostly to store items away), while she uses her hands to open portals separated from herself to teleport (though she's still a newbie at the latter.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✦ She can only portal to places she's familiar with / are within her visual field. She tends to screw up her destination a lot, opening portals at the wrong location or at awkward places. ✦ She's got the bad habit of abusing her quirk on a daily basis, which leaves her burnt out as she doesn't have that much stamina in the first place. (She lives in a very hectic way as she has to balance her personal life, school and a part time job, so she tends to use her quirk to portal from one place to another a lot. She also rarely uses bags as she uses her own personal void to store most of her belongings.) ✦ Besides bottomless, Ankoku's personal void is also timeless, which means that everything that's stored inside it doesn't age. (For example, if she were to store a cup of coffee inside the void and took it out weeks later, it would still be hot.) One of the meanings of the first character of her surname (間) is "interval in time."
