¨ARABELLE BLACKWOOD, GET UP, you're late for school!¨ mom shouted. I heard her shout and immediately got up. I woke up to the sounds of rain crashing against my window. Which I love and was very relaxing. But I checked my alarm clock and read ¨7:34 A.M¨.
Shoot, I'm so late.
I sprinted to my bathroom. I started to brush my teeth very quickly with a toothbrush that I had for at least 6 months now. It's pretty old but I don't really care. I also barely have any toothpaste left so I'll have to ask mom to grab me some on her way to the shops. I then spit out the toothpaste and rinsed my mouth. I don't have time for mouthwash. After I brushed my teeth I quickly took my maroon hairbrush on my nightstand that had quite a lot of hair build on it and used it to detangle my short, frizzy, dark brown hair. I didn't realize how messy my room was but I don't have time to clean it plus I don't want to. I decided to just put my hair in a low ponytail which is really comfortable. Sadly, my school makes us wear these really ugly uniforms that include a green collared shirt with gray pants or skirts which is your choice. I put on my basil green shirt and threw on some grey sweatpants that my mom washed and folded for me. I then checked the alarm clock that I got for Christmas 2 years ago and saw ¨7:59 A.M¨.
School starts at 8:30 A.M and it's 20 minutes away from me so I would usually have to get up at 7:00 A.M to get ready for school and leave the house at 8:05 A.M. I finished putting my uniform on and ran down the creaky stairs to see a bowl of corn flakes cereal on the table that my mom made me. My mom is also a single mom since my dad died from a brain tumor 5 years back so we've been struggling a bit on our own but she makes it work.
¨About time! what took you so long? were supposed to leave at 8:05!¨
Sorry, I woke up later than usual and I didn't expect to take long.
¨Whatever, hurry up and start on your breakfast, you have 2 minutes to finish, I'll be in the car so don't take too long¨
Alright, mom. I almost choked on the corn flakes while trying to eat them so quickly! I put on the black sneakers that are almost a size too big for me and opened the door that looked like it was from the Victorian era. It was raining so I got some droplets of water on my shirt and pants but it's fine because they'll dry off on the way to school.
I got in the car and my mom drove off to school.
