A cold breeze brushed past my face. My eyes slowly fluttered open as I scanned the room around me. It was silent. Peaceful. Really bright. As I slowly sat up, I noticed two double doors wide open, curtains blowing in the wind that came into the room. Slowly putting my feet on the cold ground, I slowly walked to the window. Peaking out, noticing it wasnt earth. I took in a breath, looking behind me at a closet. Walking towards it, I opened the doors. Noticing all the dresses, mainly fit for a twelve year old, I lifted a blue one. Covered in dust, i brushed it off. It was one of mine. When I was young, these were mine. Hanging it back up, I slipped on the shoes near the door and slowly walked out of the room. I of course didnt care if I was in a long white gown. It was one of the gowns mother wore when she was ruling. My feet walked down the hallways, looking at every portrait and every vase. I was back home. I began to panic. I cant be back home. Why would I be back home. I froze, seeing father talking to thor. My heart sank into my stomach as he looked my way and a big smile spread on his face.

"Valerie!" He shouted, him and thor began to walk towards me. My only instinct was to run. So I finally began to run. My feet carrying me as fast as I could go, my heart racing as I made it outside. Seeing many maids around, they stopped when they saw me, a few shocked to even see me moving around.

"Valerie!" I heard his voice shout again. But before I could continue running, Thor landed right in front of me.

"Why are you running?" He asked, his eyes piercing into mine. I panted heavily as father now stood next to him, trying to reach out to hug me. I backed away from it, causing confusing to spread across his face. "Why are you backing away from father?" Thor asked once again. My eyes jumped between the two.

"Why am I back here?" I asked finally. Swallowing the dryness in my throat, I noticed the rest of the avengers off in the distance, watching this play out.

"You were dying." Father said softly. He looked at Thor and sighed. "You and your brother had a nasty run in with someone. Who wanted your power," he continued. "So when you got glass in your abdomen, your body wasnt strong enough anymore to fix it. You used to much of your magic." He said sadly. "That's why your back here. The magic of the crystal under the palace is what healed you." He finished. I shook my head in disbelief.

"You should have let me die." I said, my eyes with no emotion as I turned my back and walked back inside, I looked at Steve, before I went fully in. I went back up to the room, and closed the doors locking them. I panted as I slid down against the door. I wrapped my arms around my knees and put my face in them. No tears fell, as I was just upset. Being back there, was the last thing I wanted. I never wanted to become queen. After finding out mother died, I ran. I couldn't be there without her. Hearing footsteps coming close to me, I looked up. Noticing steve, i eased up and sighed.

"I'm guessing you agree with them?" I asked as I looked at him. He sat down next to me and sighed as well. Moving his hand through his hair, he looked at me.

"Valerie, I think it's time you talked to your father. And maybe forgive him." He said softly. He placed a hand on top of mine. "I get that he's the reason your mother is dead. But at least try to forgive him." He said. Slowly standing, he walked towards the balcony. "But also remember, I dont love a quiter. I love a fighter. That fighter is you." He said with a small smile as he climbed back down.

I sighed, slowly standing and grabbing a change of clothes. As I removed the gown, I noticed the scar on my stomach. I ran my fingers over it and closed my eyes. It still hurt, yet it gave me something to remember. I almost died. That's when it hit me. I almost died. Father cared enough to want me to still live. I slipped on the Jean's, the tank top and the leather jacket before slipping on the boots for me. I put my hair behind me and ran out of my room. I went looking for father, hearing him talking, I ran in the direction of his voice. When I saw him, I ran to him and hugged him tightly.

"What's wrong pumpkin?" He asked me as he hugged me back.

"I'm sorry daddy." I said as I looked up at him.

"Dont be. I know why you ran. But I promise, I can make things better." He said softly. He slowly stepped out of the way, and the woman who raised me stood behind him. I was shocked. I thought she died, yet when I reached out to touch her face, she was real.

"Mama?"
