(y/n's POV)
"Today we acknowledged a really terrible loss." Dumbledore spoke.
We were gathered in the great hall for the memorial for Cedric Diggory.
"Cedric Diggory was, as you all know, exceptionally hard working, infinitely fair minded, and most importantly, a fierce, fierce friend. Now I think therefore you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see, Cedric Diggory was murdered by lord Voldemort."
I looked to the right of me, and saw Harry's jaw clenched and his leg bouncing up and down. I gently grabbed his hand and placed it in mine, slowly rubbing my thumb over his knuckles, easing him up a bit.
"The ministry of magic does not want me to tell you this, but not to do so would be an insult to his memory. Now the pain that we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, reminds us, that though we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one. In light of recent events, the bonds of friendship we've made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that. Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain. You remember that. And we'll celebrate a boy who was kind and honest, and brave and true right to the very end."
My eyes prickled as I attempted to hold back the tears that tried to escape them. I turned to see Hermione silently crying into Ron's shoulder as he soothingly rubbed her back.

(y/n's POV)
"I'm gonna miss you!" Angelina said, hugging me tight.
"I'm gonna miss you too." I said, pulling back from the hug with a grin on my face.
"Have a nice summer, y/n!" An angelic voice chimed from behind me. I turned around to see Luna Lovegood waving while walking away.
"You as well, Luna!!"
I looked around and saw Ron getting kissed on the forehead by Fleur Delacour. I smiled to myself as I made my way up to him.
"Oooo" I mocked, coming up behind him. He turned around and rolled his eyes.
"Shut up." He muttered. His neck turned red as he visibly tried to hold in a giggle. I laughed.
~time skip mf😫‼️~ (sensitive asses-)
Fireworks set off as the Durmstrang's ship sailed away, and the Beauxbatons flew off until they were nothing but a speck of dust in the sky.
I found Harry wondering an empty corridor near the courtyard, and jogged up behind him. As if on cue, Ron came swooping in through one of the openings to the courtyard, Hermione following.
"Do you think we'll ever have a quiet year at hogwarts?" Ron asked, chuckling.
"No." Me and Harry both said.
"I didn't think so. Oh well, what's life without a few dragons?"
Ron hopped down from the opening, and him, Harry, and I started walking off. Harry turned to see Hermione looking down at her shoes.
"Everything's going to change now, isn't it?" She croaked.
Harry walked up to her, and put his hand on her shoulder. "Yes."
She nodded, and caught up to where me and Ron were standing. "Promise you'll right this summer- all of you." She said, looking at Ron.
"I won't. You know I won't."
She turned to me and Harry. "You two will write, won't you?"
"Yeah, every week." Harry said.
We walked out onto the balcony, and over looked the lake together. Cliche, I know, but it was one of the most calm and beautiful moments we've had all year, and it was very much needed.
