We walked into Hawkstone, looking a bit out of place. Me, Dillon and Elliot made our way to the entrance. Dillon had convinced Elliot to come along, I didn't know what was going on with them to be honest. The other day they were hating each other, and now they seemed to be friends? We wondered into the room filled with adults all stood around sipping drinks, deep in conversation. There were a few teens as well, but not many, as I was expecting.
"I'm guessing this is what you meant when you said that it isn't really my scene." Dillon said.
"Yep." I said, as a figure began walking over to us. Howard Royle.
"I wasn't expecting to see you here today Perrie."
"Highlight of the year." I said sarcastically.
"Dillon, can I have a word?" He said, gesturing Dillon to the side.
"Er, sure." Dillon said, looking surprised. They left and me and Elliot stood awkwardly, looking questioningly at each other.
"Should we go and see what they're saying?" I asked, curiously.
"Eavesdropping? Are you sure?" He said laughing.
"Okay, fine, whatever." I laughed.
"Perrie!" Someone shouted, and not in a fun way. I looked around, but I already knew who it was.
"Oh great." I muttered.
"How's your boyfriend doing?" the boy said. "My ankle's fine now, I'm back to playing at my best, unlike some people."
"For the last time, Jamie didn't touch you." We were referring to the semi-final against Hawkstone, where Jamie tackled him.
"Yeah well, he's got what was coming for him didn't he." he said maliciously.
Feeling tension rising between me and Archie, Elliot stepped in. "Aren't you going to introduce me?"
Without taking my stare of the boy, I replied, "Elliot, this is Archie Royle, Howard Royle's son."
"Oh, right." Good to meet you." Elliot said.
"Alright." Archie replied, not smiling.
"Anyway, Archie. Jamie's accident was exactly that. An accident. It has nothing to do with you so just back off." I said.
"That's not what I've heard." he said, enjoying the conversation enormously, as he held that power over both of us.
I suddenly felt anxious. "What do you mean?"
"I've heard it wasn't accident." he said.
My anxiety levels rocketed.
"From who?" said Elliot, curiously.
"I can't reveal my sources. Anyway, see you later." and he walked off, a smirk on his face.
"What was all that about?" Elliot asked, both of us staring after Archie as he wandered off and started talking to someone on the other side of the room.
"Hey." Dillon returned, looking overwhelmed.
"What did Howard Royle want?"
"Nothing, it's fine." he muttered.
"C'mon, what did he say?" Elliot pressed.
"Just drop it." Dillon replied aggressively, taking both of us by surprise.
