; Escape

"God its like time square down there." Andrea said.

"Hows that signal?" Morales asked T.

"Like Dixions brain- weak." T replied.

"Keep trying." Morales said.

"Why? There's nothing they can do." Andrea said. "Not a damn thing."

"Got a couple people outside the city is all. There's no refugee center. That's a pipe dream." Morales said to Rick.

"The streets ain't safe." Rick said.

"Now there's an understatement." Morales replied.

"What about under the streets? The sewers?" Rick asked.

"Oh man. Hey, Glenn, check the alley. You see any man hole covers?" Morales asked.

Glenn and I walked over to the alley way on the roof to check for man hole covers. There are none.

"No, must be all out on the street where the geeks are." Glenn said running back to the group.

"Maybe not. Old building like this bill in the twenties big structures often had drainage tunnels into the sewers in case of flooding down in the sub-basement." Jacqui said.

"How do you know that?" Glenn asked.

"Its my job- was my job. I worked in the city's zoning office." Jacqui replied.

We all ran down into the basement to check for one, and she was right there was a big one.

"This is it? Are you sure?" Morales asked.

"I really scoped this place out the other times I was here. Its the only thing in the building that goes down. But I've never gone down it." Glenn replied, I looked over at Rick. "Who'd want to right?" Glenn asked and everyone looked at Glenn and I.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked, and they all shook their heads no.

"We'll be right behind you." Andrea said.

"No you won't. Not you." I said.

"Why not me?" Andrea asked. "Think I can't?" She asked.

"I wasn't-" I started.

"Speak your mind." Rick told me, I hesitated so Glenn took over.
