Because of the Crown Prince's enrollment at AdDU, the school's security has been tightened. In fact, the university's security team has been in constant coordination with the Royal Security to ensure the safety and well-being of the country's next sovereign. Several kilometers of radii surrounding the university have been banned from the media members to bar the paparazzi from pestering and harassing the young Crown Prince.
Inside the campus, students started to get used to the Prince's presence that Bright can move freely without the need for close-in security. The university president also issued a memorandum discouraging students, faculty, and staff from taking photos of the Prince inside the campus and leaking them to media outlets. The letter penned by the university president was written with a stern warning that violation of the Crown Prince's privacy would be dealt with harshly both by the university and the law.
The Prince is currently walking from the car park on his way to the new library building. He plans to spend his afternoon in a private study nook away from everyone until law school classes start at 5 PM. He wants to be alone. While scrolling on social media upon arriving at school, he came across a piece of news featuring his ex-boyfriend Gulf, now touring Asia as a highly regarded classical pianist. Gulf has just started reaching for his dreams, but he is now widely celebrated. He has truly come a long way after their breakup.
Bright couldn't help but feel sad and dejected. He loves Gulf so much. Seeing him smile was already enough to warm him during the gloomy winters at Cambridge. Gulf's giggles always make his tummy flutter, and staring at his beautiful face would always leave Bright breathless. It's been a year now since their break up and is still affected, gets drowned by all the what-ifs concerning Gulf.
He could have given him the world if only he didn't give up on him.
And then a flash of Win's beautiful face and warmth came suddenly on Bright's mind.
Bright was puzzled. He stopped momentarily upon the realization that he just thought of Win after feeling down about his ex-flame. Why would he think of his new friend all of a sudden?
While navigating the narrow corridors towards the library situated at the Jesuit Community Center, Bright had to plaster smiles for everyone who greets him, from faculty members to students who are grateful to meet the Crown Prince in the flesh finally. It was exhausting, especially at times when Bright feels heavy, bitterness and regrets creeping inside his heart.
But he suddenly froze when he saw an ethereal figure walking from the other edge of the corridor. He also gets stares from students and professors alike. He was greeted by several who Bright guessed would be the guy's acquaintances during his undergraduate years. He heard from Khao that Win was very popular during their college years.
Win is beautiful, Bright admits. Bright is used to good-looking people as all his life he has been surrounded by beauty. His ex-boyfriend Gulf is also stunningly gorgeous, with his symmetrical face and infectious smile.
But Win is an overwhelming presence. He commands the attention of the crowd without trying. Right now, Win seems to be floating while walking and illuminated by a spotlight, earning stares and leaving almost everyone with mouth agape. Because of Win's natural elegance, one could mistake him to be part of the nobility or the royalty.
Wait...did I just compare Win with Gulf?
Upon this realization, Bright quickly took the turn left using the stairs instead of using the elevator to avoid Win.
Why am I avoiding Win? Bright thought to himself. He shrugged this off and hurriedly entered the library and booked one of the private study nooks to get some needed alone time and privacy.
