Chapter 5: Getting Ready For A Party!!

{Avery's POV}
When Lisa and I get back to the shelter I take her to the room that she shares with her mom. Lisa doesn't have a dad because he put her and Lisa's mom (Jen) out of the house because he had another woman. They've been here ever since Lisa was one years old.
"Lisa you can come to my sleepover with Kiki if u want!" I say and smile to her.
"I would love to!" She says.
"Okay. Great! Go ask your mom, and meet me in Leon's secret room" I say. She nods and goes into her room.
Leon has a secret room and invites me and Lisa to come anytime we want. It's a really nice place. There are many couches, a nice pink fluffy carpet, a mini chandelier, and lots of great lighting. There is also a small computer and many books. This is where Leon taught Lisa and I how to read since there wasn't any good schools here at the time.
After Lisa disappears into her room I decide to take a stroll around the building. I take out my phone and check the time: 2:45 p.m. Then I get a text.
To: Avery
From: Kiki
Hey. About the sleepover, I can go! I was also wondering if I can bring a couple friends from school. And we have no school on Monday! because it's teacher grading day. So we can have a long sleepover. Oh and can it be at my place? Luv u😘.
I immediately text back.
To: Kiki
From: Avery
Sounds great😍. Oh and who are you thinking about inviting from school? Also can Lisa and Jazzy?
About two minutes later she texts back.
To: Avery
From: Kiki
Sure. The more the merrier!😜😜. And I was thinking about inviting Mckenzie and Jordan. They know Lisa right? And of course Jazzy and Lisa can come, they are like my sisters😘.
I text back right away
To: Kiki
From: Avery
AWSOME 😛 and ya they know Lisa. Well let me go tell Lisa and Jazzy. So see ya at 5. Your place. Peace 😍😘✌️.
I lock my phone and head to my room.
I see Jazzy on her phone texting someone.....again.
"Hay! Wazzzzupp Jazzy!" I say. She just nods.
"Jazzy" I say again. Still no answer, she is focused on her phone. I plop down on the bed next to her.
"JAZZY!" I yell. Still.....no.....ugh....answer. I grab the phone from her hand and dash out the door. I hear her scream and she runs after me. I try to run and look at the phone at the same time. Which is not a good combination. I fall down. But I get back up and continue to run without looking back.
"AVERY LEAH JONES COME BACK HERE WITH MY PHONE NOW!!!!" I laugh and continue running while I maneuver (to move around obstacles) around people. I can only make out a couple of words:

When should we
Meet at park
It's a date!
Can't wait
Bye
See ya there
This is hilarious. Until I fall. Then I look back for my sister and someone...Mr. Luca (the shelters official) is giving her another lecture on not running in the halls. I walk over to her and hand her, her phone. As I walk away I chuckle. Then I walk into our bedroom and plop on our bed.
Jasmine walks in 2 minutes later. And she is mad. OMG it's hilarious.
"Why did u take my phone!!???!" She says.
"You wouldn't listen to me" I say and smile.
"Okay. Whatever. Now what did you want to tell me?" Says Jazzy.
"Kiki is having a sleepover at her house you wanna come?" I say.
"Sure when is it?" She says as she sits next to me on our bed.
"Tonight at 5. It's gonna be SUPS FUNN!!" I say.
"Cool I'll be there. Who else is coming?" She says.
"Me, you , Lisa, Mckenzie, Jordan and Kiki" I say.
"Cool. Well we are gonna have to call her mom to come pick us up" She says.
I nod and start packing. Jazzy tells dad that we're gonna go for a sleepover at Kiki's house and he just says whatever.
"Uhh dad?!" I say.
"What do you want?!" He says in an annoyed voice.
"Never mind. " I say and finish packing. After I finish I put my bags off to the side and head towards Leon's secret place. Before I go I whisper in Jazzy's ear.
"Meet me in Leon's secret place." I say.
She nods and I head for the Secret Palace.
