"It's funny...the things you remember when you're watching someone die.." was all that was playfully, almost tauntingly whispered to the hero, who was chained to metal chair, stuck on the padded white ground..surrounded by padded walls and no windows. All that was there was the TV that was connected to a camera...showing his best friend. Well..what used to be his best friend, slowly yet surely losing his mind..all control just slipping out of his grasp as he was cradling himself in the corner of the room, shaking. The same man then walked in front of the TV and crouched down to the hero's face. "Do you regret it Asher?~" he hummed our croakily since it was under his breath.
"Please..." he muffled out, his voice raspy from screaming previously. "What are you going to do then? Kill me??" Asher heavily asked, slight pain and venom, lacing his words, yet you could still see the fear in his eyes.
"Kill you?~ oh no no...I'm just going to put you through what I went through...~ drive you mad...stop your mind...close everything down...I'm going to hurt you for what you did..." Mateo smirked darkly, with a light glimmer in his eye as he saw a little bit of blood trickle down the side of Asher's face and down his neck.
"Please...please no I beg you...stop..." he cried silently.
Mateo began flicking through the TV until he got to the station he needed. "Answer these questions...for every question you get right..." he turned the screen on, and there were ten, very important people, to Asher at least, lined up with someone holding a gun to their heads.
"Someone gets let go...and for every one you get incorrect...somebody innocent will dies down it'll be your fault...~""P-please!..." Asher begged out..knowing damn well it wouldn't work.
"Why. Why did you blame me?" Mateo asked, his mood suddenly much less playful and now dangerous.
"I-...I can't tell you...I can't tell you that and you-..you know it..." tears began to fill his eyes as he looked up at his former friend..who was now so unrecognisable with the pure craze and bloodlust in his eyes.
"Number oneeee~~~" he teased and pressed a remote.
"N-no...NO!- WAIT PLEASE!!-" ashers voice broke and a gunshot was heard, followed by screaming by the others surrounding the woman who was shot, he jolted and struggled desperately, tears spilling down his face. "PLEASE" he gasped out, his voice raspy.
"I told you to be careful darling~" he said as he heartlessly murdered his first victim of the day.
"Now~ be a good boy and answer truthfully this time or the next one goes~" he hummed out calmly. "This time we have a special guest too! Can you guess who??" Mateo grinned and flicked the TV again, allowing the screen to change to a woman around the age of 21, tied up and chained to a wall, unable to move and a gun right at her neck.Ashers eyes widened as he saw his closest friend, almost like a sister..coming to the end of her life. "OLIVIA!!! LIV!!! OLIVIA NO PLEASE!!!" His eyes filled up viscously with tears as he grunted out. "PLEASE DONT!!!"
"Are you going to tell me why?~"
"I WAS SELFISH!!!! I WAS SELFISH OKAY??? I LET THE POWER TAKE OVER AND I LOST CONTROL!!! I MESSED UP!!! PLEASE DONT HURT HER!!! I WONT MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN!!" Asher sobbed out, trying anything he can to get out.
"Fine....I'll let her go..." Mateo said shakily...tears forming.
"R-really?-" relief flooded Asher as he heard those words that were spoken softer than any others.
"....nah~" Mateo giggled and pressed a button. Suddenly gasping and one last scream for help was heard as Asher watched his best friend die before him, blood spilling out around her.
"NO!!!! NO!!! OH MY- HAH- OH MY GOD!!! SH-SHE- YOU!!- HN- HELP!!!! OH MY GOD!!!-" ashers breathing faltered and his screams got louder and more broken...bloodcurdling...
Mateo flinched and an ache grew in his chest. He silenced Asher by injecting a substance into his neck and no later than a few seconds the bound Male passed out cold, his body falling limp.
Seconds later Asher shot up in bed laced in a cold sweat, panting heavily and gripping the bedsheets. His hands were shaking uncontrollably and his breath was ragged and pained.
A crash was heard outside his bedroom door outside and in came a rushing, and panicked flatmate. "CRAP ARE YOU OKA-......" realisation set in and he lowered his voice immediately. "...you screamed again ash...was it another nightmare...?" Mateo climbed on the end of his bed and accidentally cRuShEd one of his feet."Ah ah ah oww you're on my foot moooove-" Asher grunted our kicking his foot again to regain circulation.
"Aha..sorry bro..." Mateo sighed and moved.
"..yeah it was another dream but let's not talk about it, I'm not in the mood...and you're in your boxers holding a lam-...Matt why the hell are you holding a lAmP??- "
"Ppft- oh hah- Ppft yeah I grabbed a weapon because I heard you scream-"
"A LAMP THOUGH???" Ash snickered as Matt laughed along getting up
"It's not mY fAuLt- jEeZ- I just wont come In Next tImE-" he laughed a little and helped ash up. A part of him knew he wouldn't fall back asleep that night and he wasn't gonna just leave him alone.
"Do I make the coffee this time?-" he sighed and ruffled his friends hair.
"Mhm black no su-"
"No sugar, I know, we have this conversation every night." He interrupted, chucking.
"I have to remind you to brush your teeth you moron, what do I know?" Ash chuckled and walked to the kitchen, Matt shortly following after he pulled on a pair of ash's sweats but staying shirtless.
"Okay first of all; that's rude- second..I brush my teeth-"
"Oh sure ya do buddy, sure ya do."
"I do!"
The banter continued as the coffee was being made and the light pattern of rain was gently tapping on the windows, exposing the stunning city of lights beneath them. It was around three am and neither of the boys were tired at all, so they put on a low movie and chatted until morning arrived..the sun lightly peeking over the horizon and invading the apartment, frosting the tips of matts red, or maroon, hair, and missing ash's since he's shorter than Matt by a few inches.
Slowly but surely the sun made its way into the dark endless abyss...lighting it up. Followed by a small smile on matts lips, until it broke into a grin when he saw a sleeping ash leaning on his shoulder. He lightly sipped his coffee and hummed a tune he'd heard somewhere, waiting for his day to begin properly.
