In the aftermath of a tragedy that brought Japan to its knees, 14 Ultimate Students awaken at an academy high above the clouds. Any plans of restoring hope and honor to the title of Ultimate Students is long gone, as the principal has only one thing...
Finally, I was able to get back to my room. So many detours, I swear everyone here is trying to piss me off. I'm sure that will change, though. I opened the door and headed inside. The room was small, but bigger than my room back at home. I took my helmet off and sat down on the bed. It's bigger than my old room, so there's that. I yawned and fell backward onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. "This is life, huh. So be it." I said to myself, rolling out of bed. I headed over to the window and looked outside. The shadows rose over the school buildings as the sun finally disappeared over the horizon. "First night, should be a blast."
I decided to head to bed early. No sense in defying the curfew for no reason. I took my jacket off and climbed back into my bed. Almost as soon as I closed my eyes, I was disturbed by a light banging on my door. I trudged out of bed and made my way over. I sighed, and opened the door, letting the cool night air in.
The next morning, I was awoken by a loud bell, jolting me from my sleep. "Um, hello everybody. Kurokuma suggested that I be in charge of waking you all up, he said it would be gentler. Uh, but the bell sounds loud, so I don't know. Uh, sorry, sorry. I'm sorry."
I rolled my eyes as I walked over to my desk. "Incompetent bears, that's all I'm hearing." I grabbed my jacket from the chair and picked up my helmet. I headed over to the door and opened it to find Hana standing over me.
"Oka-tan! I missed you so much! Are you ready to start investigating Oka-taaaaan?"
I sighed, putting my jacket on. "Sure, I guess." Before I could object, she picked me up and started carrying me to the dining hall. "What the hell are you doing?"
She laughed at me struggling to get free. "We're going to the dining hall, Oka-tan. We can't investigate while we're hungry, y'know?" I tried to get free, but she held me tight. I'm sure this is some dude's fantasy. "Why are you trying to run, Oka-tan? We're a team. Plus, my arm has really good grip. If I really tried I could probably crush a watermelon with it." That wasn't something I needed to hear while on her shoulder.
It felt like I was miles above the ground. "How tall are you anyway, it feels like I'd die if you dropped me."
Hana scratched her head with her free hand. "I dunno for sure. Six foot, I think. I haven't checked in a while, Oka-tan." She then laughed even more, "Why, do you like having a girlfriend that's taller than you?"
"Shut up Hana, we aren't dating."
We entered the main hall, only one of us of our free will. As we turned the corner, I could hear a smug laugh, though I couldn't see who it was. "Darling, you seem to be in a bit of a bind. Having fun there, my dear?"
I rolled my eyes, even though he couldn't see it. "Hi, Blake. If you're not gonna get me down, shut up."
"Hi, Blake! Good morning!" Hana cheered, "Oka-tan says good morning too, he's just grumpy because he hasn't had his coffee yet."
"Oh, I get it, my dear. It happens to the best of us. Which I am. The best of us. Are you heading to the dining hall as well?"
Her whole body turned, jolting me with her. "Yup, you wanna head there together?"
Blake laughed again, presumably at me. "I have nothing better to do. Why not?"
The three of us kept going, making our way down the hall. The whole time those two did not shut up about how cute a "couple" we were. Today can't get any worse.
