Red Roses

I walked through the halls of the school. Hundreds of lockers are located side by side. I stopped in front of a class, science class to be exact. I walked into the noisy class, sitting beside my friend, Christable.

She looked at me. "Hey Milly! How are you?" She cheerfully said. "Fine." I answered, not as cheerful as I usually do, Good thing she didn't notice. We talked to each other for a while, until Ms Indiana came in.

"Class, today we're not going to do chemical experiments like we usually do, instead I'm going to give you a project about observing plants today. I'm going to split you into groups containing two people, randomly. I'm going to call your partner and your names. After I mention who your partner is, you have to sit side by side with them and discuss things about the project. Any questions before we start?"

Silence

Ms Indiana explained more about the project, then she started pairing us up. To be honest, I don't care about who I'll be partnered with, I'm not in the mood for school today. I stayed still, Christable has already been partnered with someone. I just sat here, waiting for my name to be called.

"WHAT!" I thought. Did I hear that right? Am I just imagining things? THERE IS NO WAY I WILL BE PARTNERED WITH MY CRUSH. I sighed, hoping that things would go well. I'm just hoping that I wouldn't shutter a lot. "May I sit here?" I turned around to see who it was.

Elliot.

"Sure!" I said, giving him a soft smile. I could feel my face getting a bit warmer all of a sudden, I don't care though. "So, about the project," I curiously said. "I've already planned things out, and we can discuss them if you like!" Elliot answered. He showed me a notebook, then he started to start the discussion.

I stuffed things into my bag, closed it, and put it aside. I walked to my closet and took my cream-colored cardigan. I grabbed my backpack and flung it to my shoulders. After that, I went out of my house and walked to Elliot's house. I passed the park where Luke and Zander confessed, I remembered that we got in big trouble for stalking them. I couldn't help but laugh at that memory.

Ever since the band competition, every member of the music club started dating. Jake finally asked Daisy out, Sean and Hailey confessed on the night of the competition. While Luke and Zander, you know the rest of the story. I was the only one single in the club. I don't care though, being single isn't that bad. But sometimes, I feel a bit jealous of them. Time goes by as I realized that I was in front of Elliot's house. I took a deep breath before ringing the bell.

I was greeted by a brown-haired girl. She had a pretty wavy brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes, She looked older than me though, She's probably his sister. I gave a soft smile to her before going into the house.

I went to Elliot's garden. I was greeted by him when I went in.

"H-hey Milly! Are you ready for the project?" he nervously said. "Heck yeah I do! I brought the things you asked for in this backpack if you're wondering!" I said enthusiastically while showing him the backpack. "Great! We can start this project now if you like."

We both walk through Elliot's huge garden. He explained almost all about the plants there while I wrote them all on a piece of paper because I was fast at writing.

"And now that's all!" He said. "How about that one in the corner? That looks like the one you gave me a lot isn't it?" He looked at the plant then at me. He sighed, seems like he was hiding something. "Didn't you write a lot today? Are you not tired of writing?" He asked. He was right, I was tired of writing. But curiosity is killing me right now. But oh well, we still have a project to finish.

We both continued the project. I wrote the explanation of the plants he has and sticks them into a big poster paper. While Elliot on the other hand was sticking pictures of the plant to the paper.

We finished the project at 5 o'clock. I promised my mom I'll be home at 6 but I guess we finished way early than I expected.

"We finally finished!" I cheerfully said, letting a sigh of relief. He looked at me, "yeah, we finished way earlier than I expected." He said. "I'll keep the project here, you can go home now" I looked at him with relief, I thought I would bring the project home. The last time I had a team project I was the one who brought the project home. And guess what? I ended up getting us an F.

"Alright, I gotta go now. Cya!" I walked to the exit of the garden till Elliot grabbed my hand. I looked at him, my cheeks were getting warmer as it feels. "I forgot to give you this." He let go of my hand and gave me something, a red rose. "Thanks!" I said, grabbing the rose. "Y-your asking about this f-flower before r-right?" He asked. I nodded. "W-well this f-flower usually represents love and the reason why I gave you this flower a lot is because," there's a slight pause as he said.

Silence

He took a big breath.

"I love you"
