Nature was something that never failed at astounding Gina. She loved everything about it. How the trees and grass shimmered in the sunlight right after it had rained. How the clouds looked like something you could almost bounce on. The sunrise. The sunset. Everything about nature amazed her. She always talked about it in front of her best friend, Briana. But Briana never understood Gina's interests in nature. Gina and Brianna were great friends but shared only one interest. The most popular media platform of the generation. YouTube. Brianna was a fan of big, American YouTubers whereas Gina was interested in small YouTubers from around the world. Her favourite ones were YouTubers who travelled and vloged their lives. YouTube and movies were the only thing she had in common with anyone. Another thing about this generation is that they are obsessed with TV shows, something that Gina was not into. The first thing anyone new would ask her would be "So, what TV shows do you watch". The answer of a normal teenager would be " I pretty much watch anything that has a good looking guy and a decent plot line". And that would be the point where these two individuals would become friends. Gina's answer, on the other hand, would be "Oh, I don't really watch TV shows. I'm more into YouTube and movies". Whenever there was a crowd of people talking about TV shows, she would just listen and pretend to be interested. People would apologise for making her feel bored, she would reply saying she wasn't bored at all and the conversation between the group would continue. During this conversation, she would imagine what she would rather be doing. Something she'd only seen in volgs of the favourite YouTubers. She would be travelling. In her head, she would be on the peaks of a snowy mountain or in the depths of the ocean. She would be scuba diving, paragliding, cliff jumping. Anything. Anything but standing in a room and listening to people speak about something that was of no interest to her. It was her dream to be let free. There were things that let her down though. The buts and the what ifs. She knew she was physically incapable of doing many things. Her weight and height was something she was ashamed of. She'd dream of becoming fit and accomplishing all of her dreams. Dancing, travelling, adventure.
She knew people cared about what she thought and how she felt. But she actually felt really selfish because all she ever wanted to do was to go to a place far away, away from the noise, away from what others thought of her. She appreciated the people who asked her whether she was ok, but she would appreciate people even more if someone took her hand and said 3 words. " Let's run away"
