Sometimes you ask; how did we get here?

And I'm not talking about mankind. I'm talking about what happened to get you into a certain situation. We all wonder that sometimes.

Keiji was wondering that right now. What went wrong?

How was he sitting down, drinking with Akechi? Yes, that one. Goro Akechi. And not alcoholic drinks. They were outside a cafe, sitting at a table.

Well, it was long and complicated. In short, they met, became friends, and here they were. And how they met? Neighbors. And Keiji was still wondering how.

"This is quite good." Akechi commented.

"Right? Doesn't it just hit that spot?" Asked Keiji.

"Yes, it does. It is very relaxing." Akechi stated.

"So, how is Tokyo so far? Getting used to it?" Asked Keiji.

"Yes. I have gotten lost multiple times though." Commented Akechi.

"Yeah, it's like a maze. You don't know how many times I've gotten lost trying to get to school." Keiji commented.

"How many times?" Asked Akechi.

"I think somewhere between twenty and thirty." Dryly commented Keiji. Akechi stifled a laugh.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. I'm not good with directions." Keiji replied.

"It's still your first semester! How do you get lost that many times?!" Exclaimed Akechi, still laughing.

"I don't know. I take the same route every time as well." Replied Keiji.

Akechi cleared his throat and took a deep breath, calming down. He wiped a tear from his eye. "First time I've actually laughed in a long time." He muttered.

"Seriously though, how? Don't you take the subway most of the way?" Asked Akechi.

"Yeah." Replied Keiji. "The subway is part of the problem. It's a maze there as well."

The two sat in a comfortable silence, as they drank their drinks. The warm sun shone down on them with a bright sunny day, contrasting the cool liquid that slid down their throats.

"Hey, if you need any help, just let me know." Said Keiji. "Since you're living alone, and all."

Akechi smiled. "Thank you. I will let you know then."

"So, why did you move here Akechi?" Asked Keiji, curious for his answer.

"Oh, well I wanted to become a detective so I can help change Tokyo." Said Akechi, slightly clenching his fists under the table.

He wasn't lying. He did want to become a detective and help change Tokyo. But he would change Tokyo by taking down him...

"That's cool. You good at solving mysteries then?" Asked Keiji.

"I would believe myself to be pretty good." Replied Akechi. "I've had lots of practice."

"Practice?" Asked Keiji. "How do you practice?"

"Murder mystery games. And also being allowed to see crime scenes." Akechi replied.

"Woah. Didn't expect that." Commented Keiji.

Akechi dryly chuckled. "Yeah. Most wouldn't."

He then checked his watch to see the time. "I should go." He said, standing up.

"Alright." Replied Keiji. "I'll see you later then."

"Bye." Replied Akechi, walking away. Keiji just stared as he walked back, with a small frown.
