Marin's POV
I sat in the courtyard eating lunch with Alya and her boyfriend Nino. They were currently talking animatedly to each other I had lost interest when the subject turned to a TV show the couple was obsessed with.
While they were talking about their show I, on the other hand, was thinking of the beautiful model I had a crush on. A sigh was released from my mouth as I thought of him. If only he liked me back. But alas he was as straight as a pole. At this thought, I frowned down at my sandwich as if it were the cause of my problems.
Sitting deep in thought I didn't hear the footsteps of said person until he was sitting next to me. I jumped, losing my balance and fell on my butt. "Seriously? Why I'm I always so clumsy? Stay calm it's fine." I thought to myself. Adrien laughed good-naturedly and held out a hand to help me up. Blushing furiously I accepted his outstretched hand.
When I had sat down I looked into his face finding myself thinking "If only I could tell you how I feel about you."
Adrien raised an angelic eyebrow and said, "How do you feel about me, Marin?" That made me choke starting to hack on the piceof sandwich I had swallowed.
"I-I said that out l-loud? Nevermind I meant t-that I wanted you to um ya know me... you... and feelings...?" I mentally facepalmed, "Oh god that made absolutely no sense." I wished Alya wasn't occupied at the moment. I came back to earth when I heard Adrien talking again.
"Well if you won't say how you feel about me I guess I'll tell you how I feel," I stared at him with wide eyes. I had no idea what was going on so I decided to kept quiet.
"I finally realized something," he continued, "I love-""MARIN! It's time to get up honey!" My mother shouted, pulling me out of my dream.
"Just five more minutes?" I mumbled back rolling away from my mom's voice. Right then I felt a slight tug on my hair. Cracking an eye open I saw Tikki hovering a few inches above my head.
She smiled apologetically, "Sorry Marin but today you have an English test. And you still might be able to get to school on time if you hurry." I sat up so fast I fell out of bed, pulling the covers with me.
After getting dressed in my normal white shirt with a black jacket over that and denim jeans I hurried down the stairs to my parent's bakery.
My mom pulled me into a quick hug and stood on tiptoe to kiss my cheek. I returned the gesture minus standing on my tippy toes seeing as I was a good foot and half taller than her and waved goodbye to my parents, still managing to grab a croissant for me. And of course a cookie which I slid into my book bag for Tikki.
As I ran to school I thought about the dream I had had about Adrien. I made a mental note to ask Alya. She would not let me live this down (not like she ever did) but I desperately needed to talk to someone and she is my best friend after all.
Right as I got to school the bell rang. Hurrying through the doors I skidded to a halt in front of the classroom door and slowly opened it hoping nobody would notice. Class had already started and the teacher was facing the board. Silently I sneaked into the room. I managed to get to the steps without commotion but tripped over my own feet as I reached my desk.
The teacher without looking behind her said, "Marin if you are going to be late please do so in a more quiet fashion."
"Yes m-ma'am" I felt my cheeks go bright red as almost everyone in class started laughing. Alya just pat my shoulder good naturedly while sliding the notes I had missed closer to me. I smiled gratefully at her and started scribbling away.
The beginning of the day went by slowly, but I was okay with it as I spent most of class staring at the back of Adrien's head. When the bell rang for lunch, Adrien's best friend (and Alya's boyfriend) Nino turned around in his seat.
