"Por donde vas marcas el rumbo, tu brillas a bailar." Martina let her fingers slide over the keys of the grand piano in the living room. A small smile played on her lips as she thought of all the memories this song brought back. "Tu eres amor en este mundo. Que es todo tuyo, si te atreves a soñar,"
León looked at his youngest daughter. The way she played, the way she sang; she reminded him so much of her mother. The young girl's fingers gracefully moved over the piano. A smile appeared on León's face.
"Cuando parezca alto el muro, te puedo acompañar. Volar, volar, volar. Y no lo dudes ni un segundo. Que en ti los sueños se hacen realidad."
Martina looked straight ahead once she finished the song. A tear rolled down her right cheek, she wiped it away before it could hit the piano. She looked up when an arm was wrapped around her shoulder. Her twin sister, Mía, sat down on the stool with her.
"Are you excited?" Mía asked with a smile on her face. "Today is the big day!"
Martina nodded. "I am, I am." She sighed. She looked at her sister, who was clearly the more confident one of the pair. "What if I'm not good enough, though?"
"Excuse me?!" Mía jumped up from the piano stool. "Did you not just hear yourself singing?!" The older twin pushed her glasses up her nose. "You listen to me, Tini, you are incredible! You are so, so talented. Mom would be so proud of you."
"She's right."
Both girls turned around. They looked at their older brother, Mateo. He wrapped his arms around both of his sisters. "You'll be great, Tini." He gave her a kiss on the top of her head.
León looked from the doorway leading to the kitchen. A proud smile was plastered on his face. His eyes fell on the oven clock. He walked over to the piano. "Alright, girls. It's time for school."
"Teo, can you drop me off?" Mía asked as she got up from the stool. The eldest Vargas child nodded. "Let me just grab my bag from my room!" Mía ran up the stairs to her bedroom.
Martina took her bag from next to the piano. She strapped the straps over her shoulder. "Right, I'm just getting my apron." Mateo disappeared into the kitchen. León looked at his youngest daughter.
"Are you okay?"
Martina nodded, "yes, I'm fine." She looked at her shoes. "I'm just nervous." León heard Mía running down the stairs.
"Mateo," Mateo looked at his father as he walked back into the living room, "take Mía to school. I'll take Tini." Mateo shrugged. He grabbed his car keys, gave his sister another kiss on her head then left the house with Mía. "Come on." León took a hold of Martina's hand. "I have something to show you."
León took his daughter outside. Martina frowned, "why are you taking me to mum's garage?"
Violetta's Garage, this is where Violetta would hide out when she was writing music. There was an old piano, some guitars and a lot of boxes in there. The Vargas siblings hadn't been in there for nearly two years.
"Dad," Martina stopped walking, "I don't want to go in."
León looked at her, "honey," he cupped her face in his hands, "eventually we have to." The Mexican man took a strong hold of his daughter's hand. "We'll go in together, okay?"
"Okay."
The pair stepped in together. Both their eyes filled with tears. Nothing had changed. Everything was the way Violetta left it when she last walked out of the Garage. León took her to the old piano. Together they sat down on the stool.
