Crimson Forest

It all started,
With water and trees.
Animals hunting,
Blood on the leaves.
As we grew,
We couldn't agree.
Which land is for you,
And which is for me.
So we decided to settle it,
By killing the weak.
And lying to each other,
With total deceit.
I took one of your tribesman,
You took some of our beets.
Both of our people,
Began to believe.
In higher powers,
Than you and me.
And they didn't know,
Because they couldn't see.
Smoke in their eyes,
Brought down to their knees.
Most of the tribe,
Was forced off to leave.
To make more room,
For you and for me.
We both were thirsty,
We both had to eat.
So we used the beggars,
That worship our feet.
Hoping to make it,
Then hoping to leave.
We took their lives,
And chose to reap.
The rewards they sowed,
With vengeance and greed.
Battling each other,
And planting our seeds.
Our people fighting,
Right in between.
Using them as pawns,
Avoiding to bleed.
Because in the end,
We were always free.
As they battled for us,
Our hands staying clean.
We knew it was wrong,
But we wouldn't agree.
There's more now,
Than just shrubs and seas,
But the blood grows thicker,
Upon the leaves.
