"living is the rarest thing, most people just exist"

"We will be together soon, i promise" my brother caspian whispered in my ear. I looked up at him with tears in my eyes. God i loved him so much, he was my everything. I honestly don't know if i'll be able to bear the pain of not seeing him for so long. Hes so much more to me than just a brother. He's my hope and faith as well. But as always, I had to say goodbye. because the truth is, the good things never last long enough for you to enjoy them.

The train ride to hogwarts was long and quiet. Only the faint scraping of the wheels gliding over the tracks could be heard.

The green scenery flashed past in a blur. The grey sky creating a tranquil shadow over everything the light touched.

The unbothered horses ignored the low rumble of the train rolling past as they wandered around in the lush feilds of almost never ending soft, green grass.

I am suddenly pulled out of my daydream as i hear a gentle knock on my compartment door. A fragile looking lady poked her head inside and with a small voice she asked "anything from the trolley dear?"

i shook my head to say no as she gave me a kind smile and slid the door shut silently. i wonder what she would feel like seeing all of the children who attend hogwarts over the years. maybe even becoming friends with some. but as soon as they graduate, never seeing them again.

i wonder if the now grown adults remember her from each year that they boarded this train. always speaking to her politely when she would ask them if they wanted anything from her little trolley. if i were her, i don't think i would be able to stop thinking about them. but i believe they would forget about me. almost as if i would be removed from all current thoughts and stored somewhere deep inside their brain, in a part they may never uncover again.

i am pulled from my thoughts as i feel the train begin to slow down. the wheels slowly coming to a halt completely. i look out the window and see hogwarts, the most beautiful place in the whole world. the high arches in the building with tall towers all around. the spikes so sharp on the top of the towers that they would draw blood even if just lightly caressed with a hand.

i stall for time, just wanting to take in the beauty of the castle for only a few seconds longer. quietly i stand and grab my wand and small shoulder bag. after 5 years of experience i know my trunk will be delivered to my room by the elves. i am one of the last people to leave the train, only seeing a few first years struggling to reach their bags from the top of their compartment. i pretend i never saw anything and walk off the train, taking a deep breath of the frosty, autumn air around me. i start walking towards a carriage, ready to be transported to another year at Hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardry.
