We had been walking for a long time. The rain was heavy on the straits, mud and rock slid down on either side of us. We walked into the middle avoiding mother nature's torrent of attack. Our horses were close to one another noses touched rears and ears pinned, as as a few horses threatened to kick out. I could just about see Llane and Anduin riding at the front. I shifted in the saddle, the leather creaked and the armour cracked, something didn't feel right. We saw the orcs waiting for us deep in the belly of the pass, they were big broad and intimidating. Words began to be exchanged, Garona translated it all for Anduin and Llane. A couple of soldiers next to me rested their hands on their blades, "stand down," I whispered.

"These beasts are bound to attack us," one replied. I looked up to the crumbling top of the straits not a Warg in sight, I turned in the saddle as I heard a quiet horn blow, but then it became louder and louder, thunderous footsteps accompanied the horn. I rose in the saddle and dropped my reins.

"Its a trap!" I cried. Now the orcs and Wargs had us surrounded, our exit sealed off by a sea of green and dark fur. Orcs rose out of rock piles and attacked us, several men were pulled from their horses and hacked to bits with axes. I charged through the fighting attempting to help protect Llane but I was hauled off the back of my horse and thrown onto the ground. I was disorientated for only a moment. A great axe came swimming into view, I rolled out of the way and pulled myself up onto a rock ledge hauled out my sword and attempted to slice the orcs throat as I jumped off it. The beast fell at my feet.

I attempted to dodge an axe as it was swung towards me but it sliced me in the stomach, I cried out the orc had a smug grin on its face. I gripped the hilt of his axe and pushed myself off my knees, I ripped the axe out and stabbed him through the side, he collapsed and knelt before me with one swing of my sword his head was decapitated from his shoulders. We were outnumbered the orcs kept pouring in. Suddenly a barrier of bright light separated us from the orcs, we continued fighting until a great orcs roar interrupted us but the orc I was fighting knocked me over the head with the blade of his axe. I hit the ground.

I could just about see what was happening, a great beast of an orc killed Anduins son in front of him, it was over. Llane retreated, I was too weak to move, I was forced to lay on the ground listening to the retreating horses' hooves, I played dead until all the orcs left too, when all was quiet I pushed myself onto my back and used a nearby rock to prop myself up. However, I wasn't alone, not yet. The chieftain that Llane was speaking to was searching the battlefield. I didn't know what for, till his eyes met mine.
