When you tell me to think of a strong, smart, and fierce woman, my mind immediately jumped to my mother-in-law. The stories of her life that I have been told, the struggles she even faces to this day. This woman is nothing short of courage, and beauty.
Lylah grew up on a farm. They didn't have much but her father worked tirelessly everyday to bring home the money, and her mother took care of their 16 children, she was strict but fair woman. For birthdays they would hook up the tv and when it went out their father rolled the truck up to the closest window and hooked the tv up to the battery. Lylah grew up happy and humble.
By the time she was 18 she married a successful lawyer and had a son and daughter of her own. This man wasn't the kindest man. He put his hands on both her and her son. To protect the three of them, she got a divorce and moved to the states.
Being an immigrant came with struggles on their own. But she managed to make her own little business with a friend and she became a success in their town. Soon enough though that friend grew jealous and kicked Lylah and her children out. It didn't affect her though.
With many trials and errors, trying to find work, a place to live, keeping her son and daughter safe, she met a man and they fell in love. They soon had a daughter and two twin sons.
Fast forward to many years later, I met her eldest son when we were both 18. Three years later she got a really great job as an apartment manager at a place she really loves working. She gets her own apartment for her and her family. Lylah has helped me in so many ways since. She helped me and her son get an apartment, helps us bring in food when we have no money for it.
Lylah worked super hard in her life to get to where she is now and she has provided the best possible life with what she had for her children, especially the ones she has taken in along the way. Lylah is selfless, courageous, strong, smart, and fierce. She is everything and more that a mom should be. She is adored by the people around her. I couldn't imagine someone these days any stronger than a woman such as Lylah, and I hope anyone reading this, sees what I see in this woman.
