The Princess and the Kaitou

Chapter 24

Queen's father walking down the hallway where Queen's room headed. He notice her daughter's behaviour for a month. She seems, lonely and barely get interact with everyone, including her sword practicing. He really needs to apologise to her and eneded her a month of misery in the palace.

He's halfway to Queen's door but he suddenly stop when he heard their conversation going on.

"When are you gonna tell your parents about Joker?"

His eyes widened in shock and confused. When he heard the word Joker thought that he's hearing things; that impisible that her precious little girl meet Joker or maybe he doubt that's a different Joker, but he's mindly thoughts stop when he heard Queen's said.

"I-I don't know... if I tell them, I don't know How they react, and most of all, Papa."

He step a little closer to the door to heard clearly. When she mentioned him, he notice Queen hiding something or someone, with the name Joker.

"Your still afraid that the king that you see Kaitou Joker for the pass few Months"

He silently gasp. When he heard Kaitou Joker, he's thoughts were right, he even more surprised that they've seen each other for a few months.

"Of course I'm afraid!... what I'm going to tell them... barge in their room and said 'Mama, Papa, I've been head over heels on Joker when I first met him, oh did you know that Jack Jones and Kaitou Joker are the same person'... no way I'm going to say that to them!"

The king clenched his fist in anger. His daughter hiding hersef from him for the months. He can't even believe Jack Jones is Kaitou Joker; a boy who stole thier family gem. He was starting to like that boy - halfly like him. But now is already gone.because of anger frustration.

He mostly shock that Queen is inlove on Joker. How can her daughter see in him.

After he heard Queen's conversation with ber maid. The royal family is now eating their lunch, too quiet. Queen and her mother notice this weird and quiet atmoshere including the king's serious face.

The king is just really deep in thought, remembering on what Queen said and even her personal maid knows Queen secret, he so frustrated. He grip his fork and eat his lunch trying to calm his nerves.

The queen notice her husband's weird tense "uh... dear?

"Mhm?" he glance at his wife.

"Are you alright? You have the same look on your face when there's a huge problem or like furious of something?" She said made him flinched a bit.

He look at his daughter with a bit of determine look, he clenched his fist trying not to make a ruckus. Queen notice it, she didn't know what make her father angry.

"Queen" he said in a serious voice.

"Y-yes?"

"Meet me in my study at 3 this afternoon... there is something I need to tell you"

Queen is confused and scared at the same time. She hesistately nodded and continue eating her lunch, deeply in thought what her father do next.

"Alright Queen, you must talk to me honestly! Very hoestly!" The king said demandedly.

Queen stand stiffly then nodded. It's already now 3 in the afternoon, thursday. Queen thought or recall what her father said. She didn't do anything wrong for a whole in the palace; she's only study, sword fighting, practicing politics and stuff.

She notice her father's detedmine and there is something that made her father angry and she don't know why.

"Yes Papa"

He leaned back to his chair, crossing his arms "Tell me.... Have you and Kaitou Joker seen each other for a long time?"

Queen's eyes widened in shock. She shaked in fear, sweating.... How did he?.... she thoughtly scared. Thought racing her mind that how did her father know about it.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about... I hate Joker!" She barely stammered but her father knows she's lying.

The king slammed his fist on his desk made her flinched in fear "don't lie to me Queen! I heard your conversation with your maid a while ago in your room... and your maid knows about it?! Also the Jack Jones is Kaitou Joker?!"

"Wha-what?" She breathe in fear.... Queen can't believe her father heard their conversation. "I-I... we-"

"Don't I-I, we, me, Queen!.....tell me the truth now Queen!"

Queen sigh and grip the side of her dress "Y-yes... me and Joker see each other for a while now... and yes... Jack is Joker"

"How long you too see each other?"

Queen hesistated "After he stole the lighting emerald until now"

"What?!" Queen flinched shuting her eyes "that was almost 4 months ago!"

She bit her lip trying not cry "I know... but Papa, he's really not that bad"

"Not that bad?! He stole our family heirloom and also the records of our lineage" he said almost yelled at her.

"I know papa!... I know he's a thief but he is really nice and caring person! He made me Happy and gave me freedom that I always wanted!" She remember how Joker made her laugh, making fun memories, made new friends. She just don't want this to end.

"But he's dangerous! You know how dangerous when you with him!" Reminding the science convention in Paris.

Queen clenched her fist "Papa, he always protected me in some way! If there's anything dangerous around him, he's always there with me and I also know to defend myself! I'm not a little a girl anymore!"

"I don't want to lose you!"

"And I'm not Aunt Quintessa, Papa!"

A pause of silent in the room. The king is surprised of what her daughter said. He hesistate at first trying to say something but he cut off by Queen.

"Papa... I know your overprotective of me because Aunt Quintessa loss her life so young... but Papa..." her tears start to fall down her cheeks "being inside this palace is the worse thing to me because there's no freedom I always wanted... until Joker came in to my life he gave me that I wanted and it makes me happy... I promise that I always be your happy girl, but... I can't be happy for you from doing this to me!"

She runned out the office not hearing her father calling her. She just want to be alone right now.

The queen notice her daughter running pass her, crying. She walk down the hallway and went to her husband's study. She knows they have a huge talk together and she needs to know what made her daughter crying.

She slammed the door with an angry face "dear! What happen to Qu-" she stopped when she see her husband's state.

The king leaned in the table, feeling guilty and in shamed. He look at her with a shamed look.

"What have I done...."

In a huge dark room, a man with a huge iron claw hand wearing a blue jester cloke and white mask, seat on his chair with a purple cat on his lap, caressing her fur.

"What's your plan professor?" The cat said looked up to her master.

"I want to steal one last treasure before when I get my revenge on Silver"

"Oh... what have you had in mind?" She purred at him.

"I want to steal the Emerald hourglass this time, tonight!"
