This story won't come out for a while, obviously, but I had an idea so I went ahead and wrote it. I know not much of the plot is in this part, but let me know what you think! I love you all!

I bit my lip, hard. It had never been so hard to conceal something from my parents. I'm not trying to sound like the cliché teenage girl in the movies screaming that life's not fair, but my parents had gone too far this time. I had always been open with them, on things that mattered anyway. I wasn't sure why they hated Jeremy, maybe the piercings, maybe the fact that he has two tattoos and he's still in high school, but whatever it was had to be completely presumptuous. It was a known fact that the only people that didn't like him were the people who didn't know him.

I had finally told them that we were dating after three and a half months and this is how they react. It's ridiculous. I was less sad, then, and more angry. It's not like I'm some run of the mill golden child either. How could they be fine with paying hundreds of dollars on me having hair that means people with epilepsy can't look at me but as soon as my boyfriend has a nose ring, that's too much. I refused to believe it.

My mom was getting close to being done talking so I decided to tune in to what she was saying again, if only for a little bit.

"I forbid you from seeing that boy again, do you understand? Hayley Nichole, this is for your best interest and I swear to The Lord almighty, if you have an attitude about this-"

"Okay!" I cut her off. "I won't see him again. I know how much this must mean to you, so I'll call it off next time I see him. Is that good enough for you?" I worked hard to keep a respectful tone as I spoke and she seemed happy enough with what I said.

"Yes, that's fine sweetie. And I just want to remind you that your father and I love you very much and we agree that this is for your best interest. You might be angry at us now, but you'll thank us later. I'm sure of it." She smiled sweetly.

"Yes ma'am." I said quietly, walking around her and up the stairs to my room. It was bullshit. She was crazy if she thought that was true. I leaned my back against one arm of my favorite chair and hung my legs over the other, tugging my phone out of my pocket.

'You would not believe the utter crap that just came out of my mom's mouth.' I typed. She said I didn't have to break up with him until I saw him and I wouldn't. That wasn't going to keep me from talking to my boyfriend though.

'That sounds super gross. What's up?' He responded a few minutes later. I scoffed as I told him. I guess I misjudged his reaction, though, because almost immediately after I told him I got the panicked reply. 'So, are you breaking up with me? I get that your mom wants you too but I guess I jut thought that this was going to last at least a while.'

I couldn't type fast enough at that point. I felt horrible for making him even think that I was actually going to break things off. 'No! I wouldn't do that for anything. We're just going to have to hide it for a while, okay? I'm not breaking up won't you. In fact, that movie about that serial killer dude just came out, right? Let's go see it.'

I smiled as we texted. I could care less what my mom said. I wasn't letting go of Jeremy.
