The Time We Won't Forget

Chapter Seven

I was sat at home trying to contemplate what I was going to do this evening, my point still stands, I do not want to see him how ever I do want to hear his side of the story, I'm torn I really am
There was a knock at the door again which disturbed my train of thoughts, I headed back over to the door and opened it without a second thought, that is not who I thought I would find standing on my door
"Hey" Vanessa said, Caiden's little sister, I invited her in because I knew if she got caught she would be in big trouble
"What's wrong Vanessa? Why are you here and not at school" I asked
"I knew that something had happened, Caiden was really worried last night so I needed to check you were okay" I smiled at her thoughtfulness
"So what happened" she asked as we went over to the sofa
"Don't worry Ness, it is just some boring stuff anyway" I said making her raise her eye brows at me
"spill" she replied making me roll my eyes
"Your brother met a girl while you guys were away, it shouldn't really matter that much because he was single but he lied about it and made things worse" I said which caused her to sigh
"Haven?" She asked and I nodded
"I met her while we were on holiday, she seemed like a nice girl at first but she got way to close to Caiden way too quickly. It seemed so wrong to me, I know that they kisses but Caiden didn't initiate it. Please don't think I am making excuses for him but he may have only gotten close to her because he was missing you" She explained making a very valid point
"she gave me the creeps and when she noticed that Caiden would leave her for me she told me I had to leave him alone for my own good" she added
"Excuse me?!" I yelled
"Please don't worry about it, I left him alone and we are all okay, plus I can use it over her another time" she said
"You are smart for a 10 year old" I said, my blood was still boiling over this but at least she is safe and okay
"hey! I'm almost 11" she said making me laugh

- Caiden's POV -

It's 11:15... she isn't here, she isn't coming. I should have known, what person would come to see the guy who has just lied to her face. I can't believe this happened, after everything that I have been through with Mare, I have just gone and thrown it over way for what?
"Hi" A voice said behind me, it wasn't Mare though, unless she has suddenly grown some balls and they have dropped
"Hi Mason" I replied not turning around
"I know that I over reacted a little at school today but after all the things she has been through she did not need you drama too C" he said and I nodded
"I never intended for this to happen Mason, I love her with my whole bloody heart! I made a mistake and I may have just lost her for good" I cried
"You haven't lost her for good" Another voice said, this time... It was her  voice
"Mare" I said turning around, Mason slowly walked away knowing we needed some space, she took a step closer and walked passed me sitting on the rocks
"please let me explain" I begged but she shook her head
"Let me talk first" she said and I nodded
"Vanessa came to see me today, she told me that you met Haven while your family was still there. She also told me that you and Haven became close very quickly and it was strange, she also told me something that you most definitely do not know" she said
"Now I want to hear your side of the story" she said, I was going to ask about what I didn't know but I knew time was of the essence here
"It isn't how it sound, I know that Haven would have told you that we were practically together but it isn't the case at all, it was pretend but she then took it too far" I said making her look confused
"What do you mean pretend?" She asked
"There was a guy who was stalking her and wouldn't leave her alone,  I was new to the area so nobody knew who I was so I pretended to be her boyfriend to get him to leave her alone and it worked then she got way to close for comfort and kissed me so I called it all off and came home, I lied because I knew she was at this school now, I don't know why she is but she is here and I just wanted to make it a smooth transition for her" I rambled
"God you attract psycho " she laughed
"you're not a psycho" I stated making her smile
"So this was all a fantasy?" She asked and I nodded
"You know that I would never leave you, I knew you were coming back and I was waiting and trying to use my time for good in the mean time" I said
"Now miss, what is this thing I do not know!" I asked making her cheeks turn a dark red
"Mare" I said sternly
"I told her I wouldn't tell you" she whispered and then it when the penny dropped
"What did Haven do to Nessa!" I said with a slightly raised ton
"She told her she had to leave you alone and it was in her best interest so Vanessa took that as a threat and I am not going to lie, I would have as well" She confessed and I could feel my blood boil in my body
"That little! She is playing dumb at school, acting like she didn't agree to not tell people! And she has the audacity to screw my life over after I helped her and she threatened my baby sister! I swear I will kill her" I yelled
"Firstly Caiden, relax because getting angry and or stressed over this is not going to help anyone. I have a plan, it will be a long winded one but I am sure we can make it work for the time being" she said making me raise my eye brows at her
