The Next Morning

The next morning I had no memory of the night before. Until I opened my eyes.
'Dang it' I fooled myself.
I seriously thought it was all a dream. Celeste was already awake looking up in awe at a tree.
"Maria.. look!" She sounded excited.
I stumbled onto my feet. Under the tree where we stood was at least 10 bunches of bananas above us. Well we still had the food we packed but variety would be good. Maria repeatedly jumped to try and grab the bananas. Not one fell. Her face dropped.
"Don't get upset Celeste! Here I'll show you." I shook the tree and the bananas all fell to the ground.
"Yay! Thanks Maria!" She said hugging me then taking one off of the ground.
I sat back down and looked at the food I packed and found a cheese sandwich. It wasn't much but I needed to save food who knows how long we were gonna be stranded there.
"Hey Celeste. Why don't we go exploring? It will get us moving at least." After I suggested this she stood up with a small smile.
"Yeah, we should. We're gonna get bored easily staying here." She starting walking towards some bushes behind the campfire we made the night before. I followed her as Celeste struggled her way through. We finally managed to edge our way through and found ourselves in a field.
"Uh maybe this wasn't such a good idea.." I said wanted badly to turn back around.
"Don't go back silly, you're the one the suggested we come here anyway." Celeste called from feet in front.
She was right.. but couldn't we at least get out stuff. We could get lost! Then we won't have anything. My panic was interrupted by Celeste again.
"Catch up Maria! You're like a snail back there!" She was much further in front now.
I quickly sprinted towards her. I was nervous that we were nothing gonna make it back to our little camp we set up.
"Shouldn't we go back yet?" I said with a little shake in my voice.
"Stop being so paranoid, we'll be fine." Celeste said trying to be reassuring.
I told myself to trust her even though half of me wasn't. Soon our legs grew tired and we both agreed to head back. Luckily, unlike I told myself we made it back in one piece. I didn't still trust Celeste fully as we had barely known each other for 24 hours. But I thought she couldn't be too bad right? Soon it was time to eat again. Me and Celeste both nommed on a banana trying to fill ourselves. We made a plan to try and explore more later on.
