Sitting high up in the trees John thought. He thought of all the possible ways to get Sophia to help him without become suspicious. He did know that his plan did have something to do with her but what? If he didn't find it out soon it would be too late and he would be hopeless. There was only one angle left that he could use to try to get her to help him, and that would be to snoop. How else would he be able to get facts on her? Maybe there was some hidden clue in there that he didn't see before that he pick at until he got what he needed. There was no other choice so he had to.

Sophia was sent away to go collect wood. She was not one to keep things from people but she had to. Unless she wanted to be killed she would have to guide John to Sam. Although she hated Samuel with everything she had it was necessary for her to stay alive. Even thinking that somehow they shared DNA made her cringe. -

(Flashback)

Walking into the barn she knew he was behind her with a knife pointed to her back. She knew he wanted something and that if she didn't follow his orders she was going to be dead. It didn't matter that he was her brother or that they shared a mother, all that mattered to Samuel was himself. He was selfish and mad. There was no other way to describe him.

"You know what I want."

"Yes I do," said Sophia with a sneer.

"Dont you back talk me," he said as he slapped her hard across the face.

"So why are you here?"

"To make sure you follow orders."

"Yes I know what I must do, lead him into a trap. You will be waiting for him at mothers I know I know."

"Good."

"Is there anything else?"

"Yes, one more thing. If you even think about telling him anything, and I mean even a hint than I will personally kill you myself a slow and painful death."

"Why would I even think of defying my brother?"Asked Sophia in a sarcastic voice.

"Just do it. And remember, one slip and you are gone. There will be no second chances with me..."

(End of flashback)

Sophia cringed at the thought. She was a terrible person. Selfish and cold hearted, thats what she was. She cared about her own life more than the life of Johns. And although she only knew him for a day she saw something in him, a ray of kindness that he brought with him. Although he had lied to her. About his name and about where he was going. But so would anyone else with a brain, never trust anyone. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer...

As Sophia left to go collect wood John thought of ways he could get information out of her. His best bet was her family. Thats all she every choose to talk about either way so it would be easy to find something in there. But is this what Annabel wanted him to do? To follow the clues? Or was it all a game. He knew he shouldn't second guess her because she was wise and knew what she meant. She would never lie to him. But denial is something you can not help but think of even in the brightest of times. He was just going to have to put his faith in her and in himself even if it is not easy.

Maybe she wanted him to follow her. Maybe the next clue was where she was. He had already found the first number so how hard could it be to find the second. The first had just stumbled upon him without him even knowing it. Would she really make it that easy for him. He was not sure anymore. Just as he was finishing his thinking Sophia came walking back, hands full of sticks and leaves. Now would be a good time to see what he could get out of her. Lets just hope it works...
