Mara's P.O.V

My face slowly dropped when I heard what Arin said, I couldn't believe everything I ever knew was destroyed all over again and I couldn't even do anything just like the first time, I still remember the day that my parents where taken away it was two years before I met Arin I was only five and the war was close to ending with the Ogyians agreeing to a peace treaty, The grounds that the Ogyians had set for the peace treaty where that we where never to set foot in the ocean and that the people who killed the king and there family where to be exicuted, I was away at the beach when they took my family only later did I realize that my father was one of the fishermen who were on the boat that killed the Ogyian King, my whole life I had to live with that secret to protect myself, even moving to Atlas when I was six.

I managed to calm down somewhat before I looked back up at Arin who was staring at me worried.

"I-I can't believe that all that happened to my friends." I said

I sat by the water looking back down into the crystaline waves that lapped at my toes, Arin came out of the water and sat beside me keeping his tail in the water, I just leaned on him, he was probably all I had left.

The water moved abit and an unfamiliar voice was heard.

"Arin, so this is where ya keepin her" the merman swam closer to the two of you,"The names Geno, nice to meet ya.".

"um.. Hi my names Mara" I say trying to stay polite.

"Geno, I thought you  stayed back at your block." Arin says confused

"Well I was wanting to meet the girl." he said

I was kinda confused but stayed quiet for a while.

after all that was over Geno stayed and we all hung out for a while, they talked with me about the storm and I found out that there is a search party on the islands looking for survivors and hopefully I'll still have some people to go back to.

Geno left and Arin and I talked abit longer.

"So how long will I be staying here?" I asked

"As long as you want Mara" Arin said

"But how long til' everything is back to normal on the islands?"I asked

"I'm not sure, it may take a long time for things to go back to the way they where and theres always a chance that things never will" he said as whe both lied down on the floor.

"I sould take my leave for now Mara, I'll see you tommorow" He said slidding back into the water.

"ok, see you tommorow" I say waving farewell

I waited till he sank below the waves and then I headed over to bed to sleep.
