Chapter 3: Amber the Vulpix

Dragoel was focusing on a pokemon called Gengar and two other pokemon; Skuntank and Scrafty. Their eyes were red with madness like the rogue Salamance, they must be rogue pokemon. But Dragoel must've knew them because he was cowering behind me. Gengar noticed us, it was fight time, I knew it. silence fell around me and Gengar had his gang get into a formation, I was a fighting type against a ghost type I had a disadvantage so first I targeted Scrafty "ready?" I challenged, it growled back in reply. I used quick attack and dashed around him giving him a hard target. Finally I struck at him then continued with a force palm attack, Scrafty tried to step out of the way but I anticipated the dodge and side stepped into his path still using force palm. Scrafty took lots of damage, "where did he learn to fight like that?" Dragoel said to himself in the background.

Scrafty started to attack with a payback attack, I somersaulted over it and kicked it in the back knocking it down and made it flinch. Finally the Scrafty landed a move that sent me to the ground, it was a powerful attack and already I was feeling tired but I still ent to finish the battle with a reversal attack which reflected the oppenents domage that it had done to me. Scrafty fainted.

breathing hard I prepared for attack from another Pokemon but just as Skuntank was about to move in a fire barrier rushed in front of me, I looked Dragoel. He shook his head saying it wasn't him. Instead the attack had come from someone we hadn't noticed who was watching the fight, "leave him alone" she said quietly. The skuntank didn't listen, it jumped over the wall of fire and listened for where the voice came from.

As a Riolu I had the ability to sense any living things emotions and I could understand them, I closed my eyes and focused to find the pokemon who had helped me before Skuntank did. I saw Dragoel's fear, then Skuntank's anger finally behind one of the market stalls I noticed a green desprateness and fear. "Dragoel, you've got to help me out!" I hissed, at last Dragoel swallowed up his fear and listened "you need to distract Skuntank and Gengar, I know where the pokemon who did this is," he nodded and let out a ember attack on Skuntank. Meanwhile I had snook off the scene to the stall "hello?" I whispered, no reply. "It's me DragoelX, I'm a Riolu."

"DragoelX the Riolu, you sure were brave to take on those rogues," a reply came out peepi a black nose followed by red fur and dazziling brown eyes, pointy ears and fringe that curled above her forehead. As she revealed her body I noticed six fine curled tails, she was a Vulpix, the fire fox pokemon. "Thank you for helping me" I said giving a shy smile " you're welcome, but we can thank each other later, your friend looks like he's in trouble." We ran to the battle, the Vulpix lagged behind, she looked nervous then she continued. "Dragoel!" I exclaimed, he looked round and saw us and grinned. The three of us let out our best attack on Skuntank, he was down, Gengar saw this in shock, most of his team had lost, it was just him left. Finally he and his team fled.

Amber's P.O.V

"My name's Amber, Amber the Vulpix" I said introducing myself, the Castle town market was bustling again and pokemon continued to thank DragoelX and Dragoel, "nice to meet you Amber" they said, as we walked I noticed we were heading towards Haxorus's dojo 'the two of them must be an adventure or rescue team' I thought. "So what is your teams name?" I asked blowing my fringe away, they stopped "our teams name?" Dragoel repeated "oh right, you think a adventure or rescue team, well not officially, we were going to ask Haxorus but a rogue Salamence attacked us and we barely got here" DragoelX explained, 'wow to survive two rogue pokemon attacks, that's amazing!' I thought . " What else brings you here?" I questioned DragoelX grinned " you sure are curious aren't you?" I could feel my cheeks become rose red "hey no need to feel embarrassed" he said, I gave a little smile. DragoelX continued as we neared the dojo, " you see Dragoel found me on Dune beach's shore unconscious, I used to be a human or something but I can't remember anything else so we thought Haxorus could help." I stopped dead in my tracks then exclaimed "you had amnesia!?" DragoelX shook his head surprised by the way I reacted "why, whats up?" Dragoel asked, we were now at the door of the dojo "I'll tell you later" I said, 'should I tell them my secret?' I thought. We entered the dojo and we were greeted by a group of water type pokemon, instantly Dragoel and I backed away. They seemed to be chattering away in front of sign boad with notices dotted in every space on it, one by one each of the pokemon chose a notice and pulled it down; looking at it with great care. A blue duck pokemon had just finished skimming the sheet of paper in its hand and was about to leave when I built up the courage to ask what the notice and board was.

"Who are these pokemon on the board?" I asked a Totodile standing in front of me, he didn't answer straight away and I had to ask again, his jaw was wide open staring at the board with wonder, then turned and gasped with shock, as if he hadn't noticed me before. "Where'd you come from?" He said with a strong accent, I gave a puzzled expression, surprised he hadn't heard the second time either. "I'd just come with these two," I nodded my head at the two overly confident pokemon "And I was wondering what this board is?" the totodile's mouth was still wide open as if grasping for air. "This is the Outlaw postboard, budding pokemon like myself come here to capture and atain criminals, we take a notice to a pokemon called Nidoking and he assess us, judging whether we're ready to take on the challenge in a place called a mystery dungeon..." His voice trailed off in a worshipping voice over Nidoking.

"We ought to go and see Glaceon again, she's really good at healing wounds and numbing the pain with her icy breath. She's quite gentle too. Just let her give you a check up to make sure you're okay." DragoelX commented I delayed in my answer, I hated doctors, I wasn't quite sure why but I had to get checked up anyway, I still tried to avoid it, "Thank you for your concern DragoelX" I said in my most polite voice and I batted my eyelashes "But I'll be fine," DragoelX paused "Are you sure? I think it'd be best to get you checked up"

"Well okay, I guess its okay to go to Glaceon." MInutes later Glaceon was giving me the okay and I was free to go, after that we decided to wait for Haxorus in the courtyard of the dojo. "So why are you still hanging with us?" Dragoel tried to ask as politely as possible but DragoelX elbowed him. "Well I haven't really got anything better to do plus I had a question for you" I replied " And what was that?" Dragoel asked "Well it won't be easy for you to answer seeing as you're fairly new here as am I."

"Oh," after waiting for two more minutes in an awkward silence, DragoelX asked "Why were you being attacked, were they enemies of yours or something?" I took a moment to think, " I suppose they didn't like different? I'm an outsider, I barely know anything about castle town or areas around, it's like I'm a newborn baby, completely oblivious to the world around." I finished, DragoelX gave a sympathetic smile, " The feeling feels somewhat familiar, no one excepts you for you and they just exploit you like a tool." That was some deep stuff from the riolu, now he seemed more mysterious than before...

Haxorus marched back and forth in front of us and gazed past each of us, as if he were looking glass. I felt tense, being judged by a stranger seemed all too familiar though I wasn't sure why. "Okay, you all look strong enough to pull your own weight and I can tell that by the fire in your eyes, you'll fight for anything so you can join, after you defeat an opposing team!" He had to be joking, I had already endured enough for today, no more! Then someone caught my attention, a Meinfoo about DragoelX's height, he purred as he spoke to me from a short distance, "Don't worry, it really isn't that hard, I can show you some tricks later, before you have your battle." He said reassuringly, thank you was my response.
