Today was the first of December which meant I needed to start my Christmas shopping soon. The only problem was I didn't have quiet enough money for what I had in mind and I wasn't currently working.
My friend Rob had told me about the new Freddy Fazbear pizza place opening up after the last one closed. A lot of rumours had spread about the old place but last time I crossed paths with the building I noticed a sign saying they were looking for someone to do the night shifts.
So for the past week I had been considering applying for the job, in the end I decided it was the best option. The following week after I had gone for the interview, I got a call saying I got the job and was starting tomorrow night.
———
My shift started at midnight which was in five minutes and continued on until six in the morning. I took my spot in the seat Infront of a paper covered desk and observed my surroundings. There were three small TVs stacked on top with two at the bottom and one on top. Papers scattered on top of the desk and poking out of the draws, a cupcake on a plate with one candle, a phone, a few empty cups, most likely from the other person who was there, a fan and some posters on the back wall.On my left and right were two doors, weird, with a light switch and another switch to close the doors. I was also given a tablet that gave me access to the cameras.
"Hello? Hello, hello? Uhh, I wanted to record a message for you... to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I'm... finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact, so... I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I'm here to tell you: there's nothing to worry about. Uh, you'll do fine! So... let's just focus on getting you through your first week. Okay?
Uh, let's see. First, there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read. Eh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, 'Welcome to : a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovery of damage or if death has occurred, a missing person's report will be filed within ninety days or as soon as property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached and the carpets have been replaced.' Blah, blah, blah...
Now that might sound bad, I know. But there's really nothing to worry about.
Uh, the characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No! If I were forced to sing... those same stupid songs for twenty years, and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too. So remember: these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children, and you need to show them a little respect. Right? Okay.
So just be aware: the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uhh, they're left in some kind of "free-roaming mode" at night. Uhh... something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long. Uhh... they used to be allowed to walk around during the day, too, but then there was the Bite of '87. Yeah... I-It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?
Now concerning your safety: the only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uhh, if they happen to see you after hours, probably won't recognize you as a person. Th-They'll most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now, since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to... forcefully stuff you inside a suit. Um, now that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices, especially around the facial area. So you can imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort... and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh. ...Y-Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up... But hey! First day should be a breeze; I'll chat with you tomorrow. Uhh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power.
Alright. Goodnight." The voice that had come through the phone finished.
I sat there frozen. Stuffed into a suit?! I tried not to think about it too much and focus on making it until six. I skipped through the cameras and memorised which camera showed what part of the building.
It was about three in the morning and no one had moved. Thank God.
Still paranoid I checked Pirates Cove and the stage, to my horror bonnie was gone. Franticly flicking through them I found the purple bunny in the storage room. My heart was now pounding, they're on the move and I only have two doors to keep them out.
Breath, I told myself. I had to be wise about this and careful not to suck up all my battery power. So far, I was left with eighty five percent. Heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway to my left, I stuck up head back into the cameras and clicked on the camera that viewed the left hall and saw the outline of what seemed to be Bonnie.
Knowing Bonnie wasn't far away I quickly glanced back to the stage and no one except Freddy was standing there. Chica was now standing in the dining room, looking almost life less. She had small glints of white in the black pits for eyes. More thumping in the hallway caught my attention. I drew my attention from the tablet to the left door.
My eyes widened and I slammed my hand down onto the switch at the left door. Bonnie was there, head poking around the side of the doorway, face barely visible in the darkness. He tapped on the door three times slowly.
"G-go back t-to your s-stage Bonnie!" I stammered out to the machine through the small window. A foul smell seeped in from underneath the door making me cough.
The clock hit five am meaning I only had one more hour to go. A minute or so past and Bonnie was back in the supply closest and the smell faded out.
Not much else happened during my last hour, Freddy remained on the stage, Foxy didn't leave his cove and besides Bonnie, Chica kept to a few spots in the building. I was left with twenty one percent and it would soon be six. I couldn't wait to get the hell out of here.
