There was a small white house, with a white pickett fence and a stone path, in a suburban neighborhood, in a small town in Australia. Now not many people knew of this town, mainly only the residents. But in this particular house is where the story begins to unfold.
"What do you mean?" A blonde girl with pink streaks yelled angrily at her 'parents'. She was pacing the wood floor of the living room.
The floors were hardwood, the walls scattered with old family photos were painted white, and the curtains that hung to cover the windows were flower print.
"We're sorry sweetheart we should have told you sooner," Her 'mother' said. She looked like a lovely lady with her brown hair in waves down her back, and her dark brown eyes brimmed with fresh tears. There were wrinkles down her white and blue dress.
"Don't sweetheart me! And yeah you should have told me earlier," The girl said freaking out. She ran her hair through her blonde hair, moving her artificially pink fringe from her face. Her knees peeked through her ripped jeans as she paced the floor, it creaked every step she made.
"Blake honey," her 'father' attempted to calm her.
"No! Just no! I don't believe you," Blake yelled, "You're lying! You are my parents!"
"We're sorry," both parents said.
"I can't deal with this," Blake mumbled grabbing her backpack and faux leather jacket as she ran out the front door.
Blake pulled the black jacket over her blue t-shirt as she walked down the street, she took her old run down cell phone from the pocket of her black and grey backpack before she slung it over her shoulder.
Blake quickly sent a text to one of two of her best friends, Noah Mason, saying 'We need to talk, meet at our place in 5' before her placed it in a back pocket of her jeans.
When she said our place Blake meant the tree house she and Noah had made in a small forest about a block away from each of their houses when they were 8. They had built it together so they'd have a place to go away from their parents to hang out and talk. Her house was on one side and Noah's was on the other.
Blake felt her phone buzz in her pocket bit she didn't bother checking it as she sped walked into the forest.
The semi-tall trees created shadows on the grassy ground, and as Blake walked twigs and leaves crunched under her converse covered feet.
Once she reached the tree that held the 8 year old wooden tree house, she carefully climbed the croaked steps of the ladder.
"Blake," Blake looked up to see her life time best friend sitting in front of her.
Noah has brown hair and blond died bangs, he wore a baggy red sweater that said, 'Don't Judge a Book by its Cover' in bold black writing and his jeans were sitting baggy in his hips. He had his knees pulled up to his chest and his hands were resting on his black high tops.
Both teens had to sit to be able to fit in the small wooden house they made years ago.
"What's going on Blake?" Noah asked.
Blake crawled over to Noah and sat beside him, before letting her unshed tears fall down her pale cheeks, "They lied to me my whole life, they told me day after day that I was theirs and that they loved me. They lied," Blake said as she looked at her hands.
Noah placed his hands under Blake's chin and gently made her blue eyes meet his brown, "Who?"
"My parents," Blake answered, "They told me I was adopted."
Noah didn't say anything after that he just pulled her into his arms and let her cry on his shoulder.
After a while Blake pulled away, "I shouldn't have fallen apart like that," She said as she wiped the remaining tears from her eyes.
“It’s okay,” Noah said softly as he moved a strand of Blake’s hair from her face, “I’m glad you feel safe enough to cry in front of me.”
Blake let a small smile grace her lips, “You tell no one,” Blake said as she tapped her pointer finger on his nose.
“I swear I won’t tell anyone that the Blake Taylor has emotions,” Noah said smiling.
Blake playfully hit him over the shoulder before leaning against the wall with a sigh, “I can’t go home, they lied to me my whole life.”
“I would let you stay with me but you know…,” Noah said trailing off.
Noah’s parents do not like Blake, ever since they were little they had tried to keep the two apart, neither teen knows why.
“We can call Zoey,” Noah suggested.
Blake’s other best friend is Zoey Killman. Zoey happens to live a few doors away from Blake with her single mom who is never home.
"She is in America visiting her grandparents," Blake said sliding down the wall until she was laying down.
"Well we could ask my parents," Noah said laying down with her.
"No it's okay, I'll just spend the night here like we did when we were little," Blake said. They used to fall asleep in the tree house after spending hours in it.
"I'm not letting you spend the night here alone," Noah said.
"Why thanks for the offer but the last time you spent the night here with me our parents accused us of doing it and we were 11," Blake said and both teens laughed.
"Yeah I remember that," Noah laughed, "after that my dad sat me down and we had 'the talk'."
"I miss that, times were so much easier. We didn't have to worry about exams or if our parents are really our parents," Blake said looking up at the ceiling.
"Even though they didn't give birth to you doesn't mean they love you any less," Noah said as he turned on his side and propped his head on his hand.
"You don't understand Noah, I don't think they do love me."
