Chapter 2: Happenings.

Lucky for me, today was Saturday. So I could spend my whole day playing... Wait, god damn it! I forgot my father broke all my video games! I hope there's a game stop near by. I do have 36 dollars, so I could probably get a game. I looked at the clock *11:42 AM* its still pretty early. My moms at work, and I got the whole place. Oh, yeah, I promised Ben I'd give him that cartridge. Where is it anyways? I looked in boxes in my room, still nothing. Crap! He really wanted that game! I looked and looked. I was just about to give up until I remembered the basement. Ah ha! It must be down there! Or else ma threw it away. I definitely hope not! I ran down the stairs of the basement and looked around. Boxes, boxes, more boxes, air vent, boxes.. Ugh!!! Is it so hard to find a cartridge.

I looked at a box, perfectly sitting still, in nice shape. I went over to it and opened it. There sat, the cartridge. Wow, apparently not. A sticky note was put on the top of the cartridge simply saying "PLAY IT" in all capitals. It looked similar to the hand writing behind the cartridge. I picked it up and turned it around. It was gone... It was written and sharpie and its gone! No smudge marks, no outlines, no nothing! It was perfectly clean. What the hell? I grabbed the cartridge and brung it to my room. "Yeah, I'll play. I hope your freaking happy." I guess i'll go see if there's a store around here where i can bye a N64, plus, there's a sale, so it doesn't really matter. Before I was about to head out the door. I stopped. Wait, if the two words were put together. It would say. "BEN PLAY IT" so... Oh! It wants Ben to play it! Wow, that's really creepy. But if who ever gave this to me, and wants Ben to play it... Than why would give it to me? I mean, unless they couldn't deliver it to him.. This is really confusing. I set the cartridge down and sat next to it. "Great, I don't even know where Ben lives.." I said talking aloud. A sudden knock on the door made me jump. "Hold on!" I yelled. I ran down the stairs and opened the door. No one. "Ugh, ding dong ditch." I stopped, and looked down. A sticky note laid on the ground, faced to me. I picked it up and read it. It was an address. What the Fuck? Okay, okay, this little game someone's trying to play on me is starting to freak me out. I grabbed the cartridge and ran down the street with the address in my hand. God. What am I supposed to do? Ding dong ditch him?

(After awhile,)

I finally saw the address written on the piece of paper. The house definitely looks creepy. I heard yelling and glass breaking and a whole bunch of stuff. I ran up to the door. And knocked as hard as a could, I just really want to get this over with. The door swung open and Ben was in the door way. "Scarlet?" Something was thrown over his head and what seemed to be an old man's voice yelled "Get back here and fight me like a man!" He sighed. "How do you know where I live?" He walked out of the door and closed it behind him. "Well, I remembered how badly you wanted this." I handed him the game and he grabbed it fast. He stared at it and then I heard glass break in the house again. "Is everything okay in there?" I asked, he looked up. "Oh, that's not even how bad it gets, that's just the start." The door opened and there stood a man, tall and fat. He looked aggressive. He looked at me and that's when his expression changed. "Ben, who's the girl?" He asked. Ben looked at was his father I'm positive.

"A friend." He said annoyed looking back at the game. "Oh, well, invite her inside!" Ben looked back at him in surprise. "What?! She- she just came here to drop something off!" Ben said his voice kind of cracking. "Ben." He said more serious. "Alright, fine." Ben looked at me and mouthed the words 'This is all his fault' I walked behind him, kind of confused. "Now what? You expect me to give her a tour?" Ben asked. "No, I expect you to sit in your room and shut the hell up." "And leave her here?" "No! She can go with you," Ben sighed annoyed, "don't tell me to shut the hell up when I wasn't even the one throwing shit around," he mumbled going up the stairs, "what?!" "Nothing~." He grabbed ahold of my arm and led me up the stairs. "I hate him so much, he doesn't know how dumb he is when he's drunk." Ben said letting go of my arm, "don't worry. I'm used to it. My father used to throw stuff and yell profanity a lot too, he was also a heavy drinker." I said following him. He led me in his room. I was super nervous because the only house I ever gone into was my own. "Well, there's not much stuff in here." He said lifting his arms. His room looked average. it had a window, one bed. A couple chairs and desk. A dresser and a cabinet with who knows what's in it. Not to bad. He sat in his chair and motioned me to sit next to him. I did so, my legs shaking a little. He sighed, "trust me, this is really awkward for me too." He looked at me, kind of dozing off. "So" I got his attention and he got back into reality. "Well, I don't know what my dad's planning to do telling me to come up here because I'm his only target." "Target? Don't you have your mother?" He kind of looked away showing a sign of sadness. "Er, I'm sorry... Is she gone? I mean! I shouldn't even be talking about your mother- eh! I'll shut up." Ugh! Scarlet! Maybe you should just shut up.
