The sound of roosters woke me from my sleep. Wanting to stay in bed so bad but i needed to get up for the lessons Erise gave every morning. I got up and looked in the mirror my blondish red hair a mess, my eyes still reddish brown like all the other fire aspecters.

The color of the hair and eyes is one way to find out what aspect a person has besides obviously them using it but the main one and the source of our power is the symbol of the aspect on our body, the mark can be anywhere but it’s said to be from the gods carving their gifts into our skin in the early age.Ever since then humans have been gifted abilitys at birth and used them to help advance the human race to what we are now but that all came to an end recently.

10 years ago, queen of Harheim, the kingdom of ice was assassinated and the rumor was it was a fire aspecter due to the burn marks around and on her corpse. Hearing this caused the king to act on rage and anger. He declared war on the kingdom of fire, Pyre, my home.

I was just 6 when the war was declared but thankfully no one in my family was ever drafted or killed because of it but that bit of fortune quickly ran out. 6 months ago, I woke up in the middle of the night to a loud bang and screams of terror. I fell off my bed and ran straight to my parents’ bedroom and what I saw next would stick with me for the rest of my days.

Blood smeared everywhere, everything flipped over, my parents’ lifeless corpses on the floor covered with the blood that once kept them alive and breathing. Fear ran through me and my only instinct was to run, run as far as my legs would take me. I knew they would blame me for their death's. There was no one else and we're on a farmland miles from anyone else, there's no one else that they could blame so I did what I felt like I needed to do, survive. I snuck my way into the army, somehow passing as a small 18-year-old so I spent my next couple months with them and advances all across Tempisa.

I got to see the kingdom of lightning and earth, the snow that covered Harheim. The snow was so beautiful but the on thing from Harheim that wasn't was the soldiers. These couple months was enough to see the bloodshed that this war caused. Once allied kingdoms now at each other’s throat. The silver of Harheim armor against the deep red glare off the Pyre soldiers. The colors of white and blue against red and black. Fire against ice. The kingdoms of earth and lightning watch us tear each other apart while they made sure their kingdom's didn't get involved in the war.

I don't blame Harheim though. The king’s wife dead and the evidence points to the people that you once lived in peace with? I just wish it wasn't this way. I wish I could forget how they tore through each other like nothing. The smell of blood and fire across the battle field.
