These headcanons are going to be specific to Spencer's childhood. By that, I mean under the age of 18, mostly as a younger kid. I'm also going to refer to Reid's parents as Willian and Diana instead of father and mother.

- Wears mismatched socks because his mom would set them out for him like that, and it makes him feel like he still has control

- Wears mismatched socks because his mom would set them out for him like that, and it makes him feel like he still has control

- Didn't really speak until he was 5. He didn't see a need to

- Eats about four foods (texture and flavor issues), and it was a big problem as a child because William would make food without checking his son. He would sometimes go one or more days without proper food due to him not eating

- Not athletic, but has a lot of stamina due to having to walk to and from school everyday since he started

- Also running from bullies

- Diana, when in a bad episode, would sometimes hit Spencer out of thinking he was someone else

- William was a mild alcoholic, but all it really meant was Spencer dealt with his mom on his own or hid while his parents screamed at each other

- Oh yea, William and Diana yelled and caught all the damn time

- I really do mean almost constantly as far back as he can remember

- Never made eye contact with basically anyone unless he was forced to

- Even then, he never held it for long

- Always is fidgeting with something. His hands, his sleeves, chewing on his nails or his lips, pulling at his hair, eyelashes, or eyebrows, that kind of thing. This didn't necessarily stop at childhood, though, he just got better at controlling it and subtly doing it

- Knows very well how to get beat up and control where kicks and punches go without making it seem that way

- Always wanted a sibling. He genuinely really wanted a, preferably older or similar in age, sibling to help him when he didn't have anyone else to but he knew it was impossible

- William wasn't psychically abusive, but he was one for physical discipline such as, like, flicking, shoving, hitting upside the head lightly, that sort of thing

- His epilepsy was so, so much worse as a child. He was lucky for it to get better as he got older

- He likes Jell-O so much because his mom would get it for him to eat when he threw up after seizures since he wouldn't be able to stomach anything

- It was also a texture thing, and Jell-O was his only food for a long time

- Spencer, as smart as he was, never ended up getting an autism diagnosis as a kid because his father refused to let him go to get evaluated

- Literally didn't speak in school. At all. He didn't speak if he wasn't forced to

- Cried himself to sleep for a long time after his dad left. Not because he missed his dad, but because he was scared for his mom

- Ended up in the hospital a lot when he was really young, like 4 and under, due to the severity of some of the seizures he had and the injuries he would accidentally give himself during them (he's a lot better now though, of course, and rarely has severe seizures like tonic-clonic ones)

- Was taken away from his mom a few times before he went to college but it never stuck for more then a week

- Friends? What are those?

- Knows a lot of medical things, mostly because he had to use them on himself

- He was beat up a lot. Like, a lot a lot, to the point where some teachers thought he was being severely abused at home. Nope, he was just getting beat up

- Knows technically how to fight. He knows how to do it, he just doesn't have the physical strength to do it

- Could hold his own in a pinch due to knowing how to analyze and dodge

- Learnt at a young age how to hurt people without showing severe injury

- Has never in his entire life sat correctly in chairs when he isn't in need of being professional and proper

- Weighted blankets helped him a lot as a kid

- His aversion to touch isn't only because he's autistic, it's also because of his dad being controlling

- William would grab him by the back of the neck in the way that dad's do or grab his wrist or shoulder when he was tired of Spencer being, well, a kid
