Just Another Party

Tears slowly fell down my cheeks. “It’s too late, I know you’re sorry, but this isn’t going to work anymore.” Alex said softly trying to hold back tears.

                “Did... Did I do something wrong?” I whispered, finally getting words out of my mouth.

                He gently traced the left side of my jaw with his thumb, “Jasey, I just...” He choked back tears, “I can’t do this. We can’t do this.” He walked to the door and stopped. “I’m so sorry.” A tear fell down his cheek, and he left me, crying myself to sleep.

“Five years Shelby. I spent five years, and now he’s gone. Forever. I don’t even know why...” I sat there on my best friend’s bed explaining what happened in the week she was in Hollywood. Shelby was trying to get a big break as an actress, which was great. Except that I barely get to see her.

“I’m so sorry… I can’t believe it, you guys were perfect.” Shelby saw the tears forming in my deep blue eyes. “Jasey, we need to brighten you up. Let’s go to a party or something, to get your mind off Alex.” She smiled sympathetically.

I guess I needed to stop pitying myself. “Okay, let’s go.” I smiled; I need to get over Alex. He isn’t going to ruin my life. I’m not going to let him.
