I woke up because I smelled a strong man's perfume. I squinted my eyes and frowned as I turned to see who just walked in.

I quickly looked away when I realized it was Sir Oswyn. He had his arms crossed and was looking at me seriously. I glanced at him again, but quickly averted my gaze when I saw he still hadn't taken his eyes off me.

I cleared my throat and slowly sat up. I looked at the wall clock and was shocked to see it was already 6:30 AM! I was about to get up when I remembered I was in the hospital, injured, and my boss was still staring at me.

"How are you feeling?" he suddenly asked, making me jump a little. I cleared my throat again and told him I was okay. He just nodded and walked out of the room again. I had no idea where he was going, and I didn't bother to ask. I just smiled at him and turned to look out the window.

He came back with a nurse, carrying food. The nurse set up a table next to my bed and placed the food on it. I watched her every move, and I couldn't help but notice how graceful she was.

"Eat," he said coldly, thanking the nurse who quickly bowed and left. Sir Oswyn pulled up a chair and sat in front of me. I felt really weird about what he was doing. We just met, right? So why did he seem so close and caring? I wanted to feel butterflies, but I was too busy thinking about how strange he was acting.

"Sir, why are you doing this?" I asked, pointing at the food. He furrowed his brow and looked at me, clearly confused. "Why are you taking care of me?" I winced a bit at the words I used for his actions.

He stared at me for a few minutes before answering. "Haruki would definitely beat me up if I didn't take care of you. Besides, I treat all my employees like this, so don't read too much into it. I'm just doing my job as the manager."

"I'm not thinking of anything, though!" I lied. I had no idea he was this caring with his employees—sorry about that! "Can I ask something?" I said shyly as I grabbed a spoon and tried the soup. I closed my eyes in delight and slurped some more. He didn't answer, so I looked at him, wondering why he was just staring at me like he was waiting for my question. I cleared my throat again and invited him to eat, but he shook his head. "How did you become friends with Haruki?" I asked, really curious and excited to finally ask. He looked away, seemingly trying to remember how they met.

"I can't remember, but we've been friends for three years now," he replied. I waited for him to say more, but he didn't, so I pouted.

"You're so boring," I whispered.
