"Well of course you end up being one of the powerful creations the doctors made." I yawned and rested my head down on the cold rock of the cave. I was beginning to feel my body wiring down on me and I took a quick look towards him. David gave a small smirk and then he chuckled slightly. "David..." I mumbled, "I also have a question, such as why can't I drink or anything?"

He let out a sigh; I knew he already knew the answer from the moment I mentioned it when we first were talking. "Your an experiment Devi." His eyes shifted over towards me. I thought he was going to finish and tell me everything that he knew but suddenly he stood up and rubbed his hands on his jeans, "I think you need to get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you."

Frustration began to build in my stomach, was he still planning on sending me back to the town? To possibly die there because of starvation or get taken away by the scientists so they can finish out what they have done? I stood up in furry, "Your going to send me back there?" Anger was literally fuming out of my ears and I glared at him. His eyes didn't meet mine, which only made me more frustrated, "I need your help! I don't want to die and obviously you know more about what’s going on right now."

He still didn't answer me as he began to walk away in a direction that seemed to be the opening of the cave by the small light coming from the moon in the sky. I quickly trailed behind him waiting for my answer.

Out of anger I reached for his shirt and yanked, "Answer my questions! I know you can help me David!! You’re the doctor that let me free from that lab! Why did you do that by the way? Is it really because of you got sick of the projects? Why can't I stomach food? Will you-" I was cut off when he suddenly whipped around, removing the piece of clothing I had in my hand.

I felt like I was crappy bricks as his cold stare drowned me in fear. "You will be leaving this area tomorrow." His eyes glowed a brilliant blue; "I don't want to ever see you at these caves again."

"Or what?" I asked stubbornly, "You'd kill me?" I was trying extremely hard to keep my brave face on. I knew I didn't want to mess with this guy but I wasn't going to let him get out of my grasp so easily. "Please, why won't you just help me? I need you right now." It sounded so sappy and cheesy when I said that but if it got to him, even a little bit, then of course I was going to.

David placed his hand on his forehead in frustration, "You know, killing you would be fun, but I think the scientists would be a better punishment for you my dear. I'm really tired of your questions. I don't have to help you, I should have left you in the woods." He then turned from me and looked down.

The cave was on a very high cliff side of a mountain. It was too dark to see the tips of the trees but I knew they were down there. I took a deep breath to say something but without any warning, David jumped from the cliff side. I was utterly shocked and went to my knees to glance over the edge. I couldn’t see anything, which the darkness had engulfed. When a movement caught my eye and I noticed a small outline of a huge object coming quickly in my direction. I pulled back quickly and a gush of wind blew in my face as the creature blew past. I looked up to see it extending its wings and begin to fly in the opposite direction that I was. The marvelous dragon was barely visible but as it got farther and father away I could tell the beauty and gracefulness that he had.

As he got farther away though the pain in my stomach began to ache again and I curled into a ball. The tears rolled down my cheeks turning into crystal ice. How did he expect me to get down anyways? I wasn't going anywhere. When I gathered enough strength, I stood up and walked back into the cave where the fire was and the walls that would keep the cold wind from reaching me.

I let out a soft sigh and listened to the fire hiss and crackle as I also stared at the darkness of the ceiling. Everything began to disappear out of vision as my eyes slowly began to close, and my body began to relax. I wanted to have David’s trust or at least his alliance. There was a certainty that he hated the people that he had worked for especially what they had done to him for doing the right thing. There was a glimmer of hope in my heart that he would help me.
