"C'mon Liam! It'll be fun" my friend Noah tries once again to convince me to go out with him tonight. To a club of course, where else?

"Look I already told you I can't go. I have to study. If my grades fall it's over. You know that right?" I sigh, pulling my bag up higher on my shoulder.

I didn't understand why he wanted me to go so bad. He'd already said for one I'm a chick magnet and he wants the attention. Clearly if I was there he wouldn't get any. Why couldn't he go with someone, anyone else. I don't like parties one bit.

My parents are rich. Cliche? Maybe. But they're filthy rich. I had to beg and beg them to let me go to a public school for my Senior year. They didn't want me to because apparently public schools don't teach students "life skills" and they're education levels are low. So if my grades slipped up even a little, they'd know and they'd pull me out and set me back into a private school for the wealthy.

I didn't want that.

So I prioritized school and my grades over having fun, getting laid or getting a girlfriend. It wasn't ideal but it was better than being stuck back in private school. You'd think I'd be an arrogant prick but luckily while growing up, I was severely humbled. My mom was less overbearing with the perspective that we were better than everyone else so she made sure I didn't turn out to be spoiled brat.

"It's just one night. We'll be back before 12" Noah tries once again, stepping in front of me and blocking my path. I purse my lips and I stop in my tracks to stare at him. Noah was a good looking guy. I wasn't afraid to admit that at all. He was slightly shorter than me, standing at 6'1 maybe? Classic playboy with the blonde hair, blue eyes you'd think he got all the girls.

Wanna know something? He doesn't.

It's not that he couldn't, he's just looking for "The One". Whatever the hell that meant. It was Senior year, I doubt you find the one you wanna be with for the rest of your life here. But what would I know? Noah was a good guy, even with the stereotypes his looks put him in, everyone liked him.WHich is why I'm wondering why he couldn't find at least ten other people to accompany him to this party.

"I could have a lot of work done by 12" I try, running out of excuses.

"We'll be back by 11" he counters.

"I have to walk my dog"

"You don't have a dog Liam"

Shit.
I bite my lip and sigh. I had to give in eventually right?

"Why couldn't you have asked anyone else? You have so many other friends." I sigh

"Because even with all the people that wanna hang out with you, you keep your nose in a book. You're a fun guy when you want to be Liam. You should get out more"

"I'm fine with staying inside all the time. Plus, I study outside occasionally"

"That's not what I mean man. You've got so many girls pining after you. When's the last time you've gotten laid?" he asks, with a quirk of his brow.

I thought about it for a second. It had only been a few months. I wasn't addicted to it or anything so I couldn't care less. I shrug and Noah sighs.

"Why are you so nonchalant about everything?" he asks "One night bro come on. You'll have fun. Maybe you'll meet a girl or something... maybe a guy if that's what you're into" he finishes

A guy? I wasn't opposed to it, but relationships took so much extra effort that I wasn't willing to put in. Plus I was pretty sure I was straight. But I guess he was right. I had other friends too, none of them were bold enough to continuously ask me to hang out though. Guess that wasn't the case with Noah.
