As a borrower in Asgard things were rough, being seen as lesser beings even to humans even though once regular humans entered there was no telling the difference between human and borrower unless of course there was an escort.
But of course there were some obvious differences, ears described as having a range between elven or ones closer to say a mouse or some of the sort (only makes the term vermin hurt harder.) Giving a wide range of differences.
Though being some of the last few made things worse, loneliness had been an issue beforehand but not the the severity (Y/n) was currently experiencing...
Giving a soft sigh sitting on a dusted bookshelf of the library, enjoying the literature they could get their hands on since not many royals went there besides one.
It drove them mad though not finding another borrower with their love for epic poems and plays, even worse knowing the one to really share any interest of the sort was someone they could never speak to due to the rules of a borrower.
Laying on the open pages (Y/n) yawned and stared at the ceiling softly giving a small huff, taking a moment to admire the architecture and art around including a pair of emeralds and a pale face beside them, which made them jolt up and have a sudden weight on their very being.
He only stared for a moment in fascination towering over the borrower on the table top, though staying quiet putting a hand out.
(Y/n) stared in complete fear and began to back off timidly before a hand stopped them dead in their tracks and he spoke.
"I've head of your kind...I never thought I would never see one here " he said in awe giving a coy smile.
Hyperventilating, (Y/n) could only curl up shielding themselves.
Though (Y/n) never really saw Loki he was definitely around, though stepping quietly he could be avoided but this time it was unexpected.
After a quiet moment Loki gave a concerned look gently cupping (Y/n) in his hands and holding them to his chest giving a soft sigh. The weight of his chest only got heavier feeling the guilt from scaring a poor creature like this, hell he felt worse knowing it was a borrower he'd almost sent into a panic attack.
"I didn't mean to frighten you there, how did you get in here?" He asked softly having the borrower cupped in his hands gently, much like handling a baby bird.
(Y/n) really only stared for a moment not exactly having the courage to speak staring up at the god.
"..h-hole in the wall..." They muttered out nearly tearing up being nervous.
Taking that entrance was a mistake, especially since recently many people had specific architecture to prevent borrowers.
Loki only gave a small 'hm' still admiring the borrower infront of him making (Y/n) nervous as he gently poked and prodded at them.
"You seem alright..." He said lightly probably talking to himself until hearing the door click making (Y/n) look until he quickly hid them behind his back.
These steps were a lot heavier compared to Loki, and a lot stronger.
"Brother." Loki simply huffed having a pokerface while the other blonde god stared oddly endearingly.
"Why didn't you come to the banquet brother? Everyone was worried why you hadn't shown-"
"You. You were worried." Loki said in a pessimist tone.
