Once Sokka and Dai made it back to his place and he had shown her around, she showered and returned to the bedroom. He greeted her by hugging her and leaning into her. Dai hummed as he wrapped his arms around her, resting her head on his for a moment. She leaned forward and grabbed a blue hoodie and shorts from his closet and dropped her towel with a mischievous grin, glancing over at Sokka and smirking before pulling the sweatshirt over her head.
Sokka simply watched, lips parted, blue eyes wide. He cleared his throat and glanced away. "L-let's eat! Before something else happens!" he announced quickly, grabbing their bag of fast food and bringing it to his couch.
Dai giggled, pulling on the shorts and plopping on his couch next to him. She leaned against him, watching him unpack the food, taking her portion. Biting into a fry, she glanced at him innocently. "What else would happen, Sokka?"
Sokka crumpled up the back and threw in a small trash can in the corner before turning his attention to Dai. He pressed his lips together, remaining quiet for a few moments. "Fucking you," he finally said, shrugging and beginning to eat.
Dai's face turned bright red and she looked away, smiling a little. "Oh," she said softly. She tucked her legs underneath herself, leaning against him as she ate.
"Don't 'oh' me! You asked, I delivered!" he said in defense, his voice high-pitched. He leaned his head against hers, grabbing his burger. "Not my fault," he added more calmly.
Dai huffed, leaning away from him and furrowing her brows as she chewed. "Watch the attitude, Pussy," she responded, rolling her eyes. She grinned. "I didn't exactly expect you to be so... blunt," she pointed out.
Sokka rolled his eyes. "People change after a year away from high school. What can I say?" he asked innocently, reaching out and poking her cheek before pinching it gently. "You keep using the godforsaken nickname, huh?"
"Oh, my god." Dai rolled her eyes. "Okay first off, you were away for the summer, three months, not a year." She grabbed his hand, frowning. "Second, if I'm ever away from you for that long I'm going to die. And third, you are literally no different then before. And your college hasn't even started!" Her eyes flicked to his shoulders, and she grinned. "You've just gotten hotter. That's the only difference." She frowned, releasing his hand. "And don't pinch me. I'll turn you into an ice cube."
"Three months is something!" Sokka looked away. "People change! I need to mature, no?" He laughed and leaned closer. "You're not going to die," he cooed, "I am and will be here. I'm not leaving you. So no dying." He pinched her cheek again. "Don't threaten me with your magic powers." A pout crossed his face. She furrowed her brows again and grabbed his hand, pinning it to the back of the couch. Dai had finished her food, grabbing his collar in both hands and moving to straddle his lap. His eyes widened. "Ah! My food!" He quickly adjusted his free hand to keep his food safe.
"It's not a year!" she responded. She leaned back, pouting. "You sure you're not gonna leave me for all the hot college girls?" she teased.
Sokka blinked. "Why would I leave you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Dai giggled and rolled her eyes, leaning into his neck and giving him a few quick kisses. He tilted his head, humming in satisfaction, and she flushed slightly. She buried her face in his shoulder, mumbling, "I was teasing, silly." She let go of his wrist, hugging him, letting him finish his food. He moved to gently grip her waist. "I missed you."
"I miss you too, my cute magic water girl," he teased.
Dai blushed at the sound of his hum, the pink deepening into a red as he continued. "I'm not cute," she grumbled in protest, her forehead against his neck. She nibbled his neck for a moment, then kissed him again and returned her head to his shoulder.
