There he stood, the dark lord Dagon, in his obsidian black armor covered in blood that was not his own, over Chris. "I've waited so long for this. You can't even imagine the amount of trouble you've caused me" He spat. Chris on one knee, putting all of his weight on his broken sword, struggles to get up even with the severe injuries he sustained during the fight.

"Hell yeah I caused you trouble," he said in a low raspy voice, "you've burnt down countless villages, slaughtered thousands!"

"I only killed those who refused my rule. Those who do not bow down to a God deserve only death."

"A God" Chris yelled, "You think you are a God? You are nothing but a power crazed murderer!"

Thunder and lightning boomed in the sky above the two. "Oh but I am a God," Dagon said. "Have you not seen what I have done? The power that I hold? Only a God would have the power that I hold!"

Then anger-fueled Chris stood up, pulled his broken sword out of the mud and readied himself for an attack. Dagon was wide open, he didn't even have a weapon as it was utterly obliterated during their fight. This was his chance. Chris yelled and rushed Dagon. Butthen, all Chris saw was a flash of red-orange, and felt immense heat encase his whole body.

Chris woke up with a start. "What the hell," he thought, "that's the third time I've had that same dream in a row." He got up out of his thatch and hide bed, and stretched.

"Chris," his mother yelled from the other room, "come on, breakfast is ready!"

"Coming!" Chris yelled back. He loved it when his mother cooked breakfast. He quickly washed his face in the barrel of water his mother leaves him every morning and walked over to the kitchen. It was a small room. Just a fireplace with a medium-sized pot hanging over it, and a small metal grate that could be swapped out with the pot to grill meats. His mother was sitting next to the fireplace making a cup of coffee. She was slim. Her black hair was a mess as always, and she was wearing her hunting clothes for some reason.

Chris noticed the smell of freshly cooked bacon and eggs, telling him that today was a special day. "What's the special occasion mom?" he asked.

"Today is serious," she said. "There is something we need to discuss, now eat up before it gets cold."

He didn't quite understand, but just went with what his mother said. Indeed it was his birthday, but he didn't quite understand why becoming seventeen was so serious. He decided against thinking too hard about it and ate his breakfast. This was after all his mother's best dish. As he ate, he reveled in the deliciousness of the bacon and eggs. The bacon was cooked just perfectly, and as he lifted a piece he could see grease slide down the meat. The eggs made sunny side up, his favorite way was seasoned perfectly."There's no way that you cooked this," he told his mom, "it tastes way better than any other time!"

"Well I had to make something that you'd eat before I take you somewhere you won't like one bit," his mother said," The least I could do is make the food taste as good as possible."

"So what is so important and serious that you had to make the food so good?" Chris asked sarcastically.

"We are going to Jedd's house."

"Jedd? That's why you're wearing your hunting outfit?" Chris said, clearly startled. "Jedd is a crazy person, what would he have anything to do with our family?"

"Everything." Chris' mom said in a stern voice, indicating that if he continues he will bein a world of pain.

So Chris gave up and went to change into his outdoor clothes as well. After a few minutes, Chris walked out of his room. His outdoor clothes consisted of a brown vest with a white undershirt, oxhide trousers, and leather shoes.
