CH. 25 The Calendar

HEATHER’S POINT OF VIEW

 

Brendon and I sat down as the guests were coming up to us and congratulating us on our engagement. We thanked everyone and we got up to get whatever food we wanted. “Brendon thank you so much for this, I love you so much.” I said as I kissed him. “I would do anything for the love of my life.” He kissed my nose and began to get the food he wanted. Once we got our food we sat back down, and Brendon’s dad began to make a toast. “I can honestly say that you have found yourself a keeper Brendon, and I can also say you found yourself someone who is willing to put up with you.” Everybody laughed. “What I’m trying to say is I love you Brendon, and I’m happy that you have found someone who you love so much who loves you just as much as you love her. To Heather and Brendon.” Boyd raised his glass of wine and the crowd followed. Everyone repeated Boyd’s last words and sipped their wine.

It was the end of the party, and everyone was tired so we all got into our cars and drove home. When Brendon and I got home after what seemed like an eternity Penny and Bogart jumped onto us as if we had been gone forever. “Hello there miss Penny Lane.” I said as I smiled at her. I picked her up and kissed her while I began to walk upstairs. I set Penny down on our bed as I went to our bathroom to take the makeup off of my face. I felt Brendon wrap his arms around me, and I could feel him bury his face into my neck. I turned around to face him, and I buried my face into his chest. He felt warm, and I could hear his heart beat, and I knew in that very moment I was head over heels in love with him.

 

THE NEXT DAY

 

I woke up next to Brendon snoring right in my ear. “Brendon wake up.” I said as I shook him while laughing. He woke up and blinked his eyes a few times and looked at me as if I were crazy. “Babe it’s like 8:30 in the morning go back to sleep.” “I can’t sleep Brendon there’s something we need to do today!” I said as I cuddled him. “Where do we possibly have to go on a sunday morning.” He said into the pillow. “We have to go find a cake for the wedding.” Suddenly he was up and he was getting ready. Penny jumped onto the bed and looked at me then back at Brendon. “Your father is crazy sweetheart.” I said as I pet her head. “You’re the one who’s marrying this craziness.” I heard Brendon yell from the bathroom. “My choice!” I yelled back as I opened the closet to find something to wear. Once I found something I went into the bathroom and put on eyeliner.

I walked downstairs and walked over to Brendon who was standing by the door ready to leave. I grabbed my jacket and ran with Brendon out the door to the car.
