Instantly a pistol was aimed at me. The wielder? Fury, who else?
"Fury, wait," Bruce said. "Look at her expression, she's obviously hearing this for the first time."
"I don't frankly care, Banner. Whether she knows it or not is irrelevant. She could be radioactive, dosed, or worse. The Wendigo could be coming out. I want her put in a cage, now!"
Stark stepped up. "Sir-,"
"That's an order!" Fury snapped.
Nobody moved. That, above all, confused me. Why wouldn't they take the order? I've been nothing but distant to them the whole time I was in this place. Why now choose to be nice?
Fury scowled. "Security!" Men came rushing into the room with guns. "Take Mortem to her cage. Meanwhile, make sure you escort the rest of the Avengers to their rooms. Make sure none of them make contact with Mortem."
The guards instantly rushed over to me and cuffed me. The Avenger were shocked to see no resistance from me. We were escorted out into the hall and rushed opposite directions. I looked behind me to see Steve doing the same. Then we turned a corner and I couldn't see him anymore.
We entered a door that needed a key card. When we got inside I realized we were in Loki's cell room.
Loki looked over and made eye contact. He didn't say anything. He just watched.
The dude that held the key card we used to get in got out a phone-looking thing and typed in something before hitting a button on it.
Next thing you know, the wall to our right slides away, revealing an identical cage of Loki's. The guard walked to the control panel and typed something in again before the door opened. The two guards accompanying us walked me to it. They un-did my handcuffs and I stepped inside.
"This glass has complete sound so don't even think about speaking together, or we will drop the cells." the guard said before he shut the doors.
So this is it. I sighed. Not even a bed to lie on. All of a sudden, Natasha walked in. She typed in something on the panel then walked towards me.
"What the hell was that?!" she yelled. So she was angry. "And don't even think about not speaking, because I just muted the sound being recorded and in Loki's cell."
"What was what?" I asked.
"I don't care! Just tell me something! It'll suffice by all the secrets you're keeping!" Natasha yelled.
"Stop yelling, how about that?" I rubbed my ears and faced the other way from her.
I didn't hear anything for a while before she said, "Okay. I'm sorry. please tell me about yourself."
I spun around. She had a complete serious face on.
"Why do you wanna know abut me?" I asked.
"Because," she sighed, "I don't even know you're name."
I watched her for a moment before slowly saying. "My name is Mortem."
"Please just stop lying for two seconds? How am I supposed to trust you if I don't know anything about you?" she said.
"I never asked you to trust me." I said, turning back around and sitting.
"I need to trust you if we're fighting together. How am I supposed to know you'll watch my back if I can't trust you?" she pleaded.
I stayed there for a while before slowly getting up and turning around. I walked over to her and sat. She sat as well. I took a big breath and started with, "My name is Subject 232."
