Darkness. One car crash, my brother gone, and eyes that paired no vision. That nights haunts me still. Even being 18 and a werewolf no amount of healing or surgery could repair my eyes and the heartbreak of so many years ago. All it took was one drunk driver to take my brother and my vision. As I laid on my bed I grasped for the light sheering in through the blinds. The light that my vision could barely detect. Feeling the heat on my face, and the sound of my family awake. Everything was heightened my hearing, taste, and sound, but never my eyes.
"Anna!" My mother called. "Anna, its time to get up!" she yelled through the door. I slowly got up from my bed, feeling my way to the cold ground and my walking stick. I felt my way through my clothes for anything that could be loose to wear that would keep me cool. As I walked out towards the kitchen I was greeted by my father. The beta of the Crescent Moon pack.
"Anna, your awake." He gave me a firm hug.
"Morning papa!" My father laid a kiss between my eyes. You see Papa always did that after the accident.
"Today I'm meeting with the Alpha of our clan, to discuss paperwork," he explained. "You're going to be with your mother today." Ever since the accident they never wanted to leave me alone, that was 6 years ago. I gave him a smile, and didn't argue. It's hard to keep an agreement going for so long. I soon felt two small arms go around me. My mother.
"Sweetie, what do you want to do today! We could go shopping get you new clothes. You will look so lovely for your senior prom!" I felt the excitement in her voice. That's when my cousin came in. Dakota. Not that we didn't get along. We did. He just never thought out what he was going to say before he said it.
A smirk came across his face. "She doesn't have a date; she can't even find her mate with those eyes." he laughed.
"Dakota!" My father growled.
"It's okay papa. Hes right. I'm not going mom." I explained into the darkness. Nothing was said after that I felt the tension in the air but nothing. I left grabbing my walking stick headed towards the door. As soon as I felt the outside, I took a deep breath in. The smell of pine trees, and wet grass filled my lunges. I then took my shoes off feeling the wet ground beneath my toes.
"Anna." My mother called. "If you would like you can spend the day with Alex." I turned towards the voice, excitement filling the air.
"Really Momma!"
"Yes Sweetie, just take your phone that way Mr. Beta over there doesn't worry so much." She explained. I called him up to meet. Alex had a thrill in his voice. It wasn't often that we got to hangout and I understood that. 30 minutes later Alex arrived. His scent was filled with fresh sliced apples and salted caramel.
"Anna!" He gave me a big bear hug, then put me down gently as if I was a porcelain doll.
"Hey, Alex." I gave a smile. I felt him grab my hand.
"What do you want to do today?"
I stopped to think, "Can we go to my spot?" Ever since my brother died, there was one spot that made me think of him. The spot my brother taught me how to shift into my wolf. I haven't shifted into her ever since the accident, too afraid of what I might see.
"Sure thing. But I already knew you would say that," he laughed. As we started walking, I felt his hand guide me a little bit. For some reason my body screamed at me in disgust. His touch wasn't something my body wanted at all. A shiver ran up my spine from his hand. Afraid of being rude I pushed the feeling to the back of my head and continued on.
"You know I have my walking stick". He didn't say anything.
When we got there, I found my way over to what felt like to be a log. Alex sat right by me. We talked to what felt like hours. Then Alex said something that I never expected.
"Anna, I like you." It came out of the blue. I didn't say anything, I was too afraid to hurt him. You see I never saw Alex like that. I couldn't he has always been like a brother to me. I muster up the words the best I could, ignoring the shiver that followed my spine.
"Alex, you don't want a blind girlfriend," I laughed trying to brush the subject off.
"I don't care that your blind!" He yelled.
"Yes, you will."
"I can take care of you and support you," he continued. But it only made me upset. To think he actual thought I need to be taken care of offended me. I felt my wolf getting upset but I did everything I could keep her at bay.
"I can take care of myself." I said as calmly as I could.
"NO! You can't you have to use this fucking stick!" I could feel his anger. But it only made me and my wolf angrier. I swallowed the pit in my stomach as well as the fire that aligned in my throat.
"FUCK YOU ALEX!!" I yelled standing up trying to find my walking stick. I felt and felt but I couldn't find it. Alex took it from me, the only thing I could think of was to run. So, I started running into nothingness. Just darkness. Feeling sticks, branches cut as me thrashing my hands to get away.
'Anna!' I heard through the pack link. It was my father. 'You need to get home there are rouges on the north end.' I didn't say anything just turned around feeling my way through the woods. I needed to get back home, but I didn't want to make my father worry more then he already does. That's when I heard them. It was too late they were here and my hearing was detecting it. I was trapped, I couldn't see I put myself in this trap. I could hear my wolf crawling to get out. But I was too afraid. I started running and running. Then a loud growl coming from every direction. I started to whimper I was hopeless. Then a voice.
"Little wolf!" I didn't say anything. Then I felt a grab and a pull. Two strong arms wrapped around my torso. I started to squirm but I couldn't get loose.
"Shh, I'm not the rouges!" he raised his voice a bit trying to get me to be quiet. I had no choose I didn't want to be caught that would only hurt my family more. When the rouges finally left. I heard Alex's voice.
"Anna!" he yelled.
"Alex!" I yelled into the darkness. I felt the arms let me go. I heard Alex's footsteps get closer. Then a growl. It sounded almost territorial.
"Alpha Kyo." I heard Alex exclaim in submissive way. I felt chills on my back in that very moment. The man that grabbed me was an Alpha and I showed disrespect. I showed disrespect to the most dangerous powerful Alpha out there. The Alpha of the Blood Moon pack. I was without warning hit with the most alluring scent. Pine trees and rain. My body felt almost wrapped in it. I lowered my head without a second thought to show my submission as well.
"Mate! Mine!" I felt the alpha grab me closer. Shock rendered me. There was no way. His scent was strong and caught my attention. However, mother told me the only way you know is when you look in the eyes of the person. He must have looked me in the eyes, but I couldn't be sure.
"Look me in the eyes little wolf," he said grabbing at my chin. I looked up. To where I couldn't be sure but I tried to follow his voice.
"I said look me in my eyes!" he yelled even louder which caused me to whimper.
"She can't Alpha." Alex exclaimed.
Which only caused the Alpha to growl louder. "Why not?"
"Shes blind, Alpha." Alex sad with sadness in his voice.
"Your blind?" The Alpha's confusion overwhelmed me. I didn't answer.
"Answer me!" he yelled louder.
"Yes," I said almost in a whisper. He didn't say anything just dropped his hand. Did I just get rejected? I couldn't blame him I was blind and useless.
"Come I must talk to your Alpha," he explained. I then felt his arm tug at me. I could only hold on my walking stick was gone and I was stuck to the cold Alpha.
